[PCAG Clash]

the good news is i have pictures. the bad news is it's nigh unto impossible to take fFair pictures of a plasma screen in a dark room.

The game of Clash is a perplex city academy games staple. And, while it has only just come to light, the puzzle cards are almost a direct application of the mighty game. isn't that interesting? Smile

So in NYC, we got to see a slew of cards in progress. I know cassandra took a bunch of notes fFrom the ones which were only plain text. I took pictures. some of them even look like something!

So, i'll post a series of messages to this topic so you may get a preview of cards to come Smile The photos have been gimpped by me, to improve the colours. the photos are still shoddy, but at least you can get an idea of what they look like. hopefully cassandra will chime in with her stuff.

Actually there's one card whose picture didnt turn out at all, but i might try and recreate fFor effect, cos it's just utterly amusing Smile

bleedin hard to read. it was bleedin hard to read at the event, really. as Gabriel C said elsewhere: given a little time and paper and pen, it could be worked out.

who is andrea?

it's hard to make out here, but with some imagination, you can see the whole staff of mind candy, in good painting style. Sente is top-center. i believe michael adrian and dan are on the top row, while someone i don't know has been squeezed into the top right corner. at the risk of giving away the answer: andrea is second row, second fFrom left. fFiona is second row, fFar right i believe. as a guess, Naomi Alderman is bottom left. not sure which is paul.

As I was going to St. Ives I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks, each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits: kits, cats, sacks and wives,
How many were going to St. Ives?

this card was given after the game conclusion. no idea what the answer is.

The question: What Book is This?

as a testament to my camera sucking, apparently, there's another pic of this in the background here: http://flickr.com/photos/84921053@N00/100345003/

people stood amazed at this fFor some while after the games had ended. The question is: how many triangles are in this shape?

you are looking at a painting of a gloved hand holding some sort of bronzish amulet. the amulet has a pentagram in a circle. inscribed in the border is something like "count the triangles, break the curse."

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
i count 35 triangles.

i have other pictures fFrom the event i neeed to organize and throw on fFlickr. sadly, the pic i took of the mind candy leitmark did not turn out as anything but a blury mess. anyway, i'll post what i got soon. (no, really!)

cassandra's notes are the more interesting bits. like one puzzle was some sort of code. it could be ROT13, it could be something really wacky. i dunno. cass?
