nm I found it. Actually in page file, there are two hidden pics, both tagging to geocities.

I am not much for html and whatnot so I don't know how to bring those pictures up.

Those are counters added by the server. You'll see them on every page in this game.

1) The hidden picture I was referring to is the filename Kender originally found in the source. You can enter the location manually and the picture will appear at:

http://irkshirechemicals.com/E06F48F1-F1B7-4F19-A9F8-6E7517B79E6B.jpg

There is a reference to it in the html, but no actual link to the photo is used, which means it's never loaded. The code attempts to pre-size the image but then never actually goes and gets the image. The code is hidden in the page:

http://irkshirechemicals.com/IrkshireChemicalsAboutUsEXECUTIVETEAM.html

<p width="60" height="80" src="E06F48F1-F1B7-4F19-A9F8-6E7517B79E6B.jpg" border="0" align="left&lt;IMG">
<a href="mailto:donaldirkshire@yahoo.com" style="text-decoration: none">
<font color="#000000">
<img src="020610.jpg" align="left" border="0" width="60" height="80">Dr.<span lang="en-us">

A close examination of the two photos in photoshop shows very similar facial features. I believe they are the same man.

------------------------

2) The hidden picture Jack is referring to may not be the same one. He could be referring to another one or I may have missed another in the code. The easiest thing to do is open the source and search for .jpg and .png, cross references the lists presented here. If a "new" image is found that isn't on the list, then we got it. If not, I suspect it has something to do with the large picture.

------------------------

3) The hidden picture contains no "origin" data, which I find odd. The smaller, shown, picture contains "origin" data which shows it's taken by a FujiPix camera, etc., etc. But the larger image contains nothing. I mean nothing. It's likely been modified to remove that info.

------------------------

Gotta run to work now. Grats to all who helped find projectshadowweb!

I don't know what other photo he's talking about, cepting maybe that humongous hidden one of Mr Irkshire

Anyone wanna try uncamoflagueing it? I don't have that installed presently and not sure I have enough room to install it just yet

It is not stegged with Camouflage. Camouflage adds data to the end of the file and this jpg ends with the correct FFD9 jpeg end-marker.
Stegdetect also detects no stegging.

It does look suspicious though. Like the photo was photoshopped onto the background. The background looks like it could hide anything.

The Other

Trying /contact_2 (with no extension) hits a file. The file itself has no extension (I had to download it and first look at it in a text editor), but after a little messing around I found it to be a photoshop file. The basic image is the same as contact_1.jpg, but there is a layer containing encoded text. See below...

Here's a transcript as I read it, but the font is funny and someone might like to double check.

Has anyone emailed Jason? I purposely didn't because I wasn't sure if there was already someone who was handling most of the e-mail interactions. If not, I can send something...any suggestions on the kind of tone I should use? Or the info to put in? Sorry for not saying something sooner.

I emailed Jason. I chose to role play as an insurgent organization that is interested in services. This way he could deny knowledge if he felt threatened or appeal to my requests if he felt interested. Now I just need to follow up and "pry" some more information out of him.

My email to him:
Quote:
Mr. Young,

It has taken my organization quite some time to reach this point. We hope that this email reaches you with haste.

We have come to understand that you specialize in a field of parasitological science that may be of use to our organization. Our organization has a collection of armadillos and hedgehogs which require "fleas" to stimulate their skin. But these "pets" are kept in our home, so we are also in need of a "pest control" product that might protect certain pet owners from "flea" infestation.

Several attempts have been made to cater to our "pets" needs but none have been very effective. We believe that your services may be the thing we're looking for, once and for all. We are prepared to pay any price for your services in an effort to "deal with" our unusual pets.

Should you feel you can provide us with a solution to our problem please let me know how we can proceed.

And his response:
Quote:
I believe that we may be able to help you with your "pest control" problem. We have a side range of chemicals that, if administered correctly, will provide you with the adequate protection that you are searching for. However, we do not keep fleas on hand. You may need to contact another company for that problem.

Did I misunderstand the Project Shadow web page?
Quote:
Life has a way of finding itself new ways to get rid of those who would do us harm. Our job is to arm those people with the ability to inflict said harm.

The use of chemical and biological weapons to eliminate our enemies has gone on for years.

Only now do we have the power to master the construction of diseases that have ended many lives in the past.

This power is not one that is to be used lightly.

It's sort of poorly written, but I read this to mean that irkshire (or an offshoot of them) can provide certain people with the power to inflict harm using chemical and biological weapons based on all but dormant diseases, ie small pox, anthrax, the plague, etc.

His response is confusing if he's only willing to provide "protection" from those said weapons and not the weapons themselves. Or did I interpret this incorrectly?

Regardless, he is clearly open to further communication and may have more information on this "other" company.

Happy Puppy Lisa!

I also contacted Jason, but in a far more blank fashion with some vague abstract poetry that hinted at keywords. The response I got from him spoke to me as a sister, which I took to be some sort of security protocol, and he spoke of a gift which was waiting for me.

I replied in turn playing the role of the sister, talking about my need to ensure future security, and prying around a bit for extra information. The reply I got to this was fairly flat, the only thing of interest being a casual mention that his romantic life has been a 'little rough'.

Stuck for direction, I wrote back saying that I might pay the family home a visit, giving the reason that I had some issues I'd like to talk over with him.

his reply:
Quote:
A planned meeting it is. The place is up to you, as long as that place is located somewhere on the internet. Work has me pretty much pinned down at the moment so it is hard to get away from my desk.

Please provide me with your available times, as well as possible locations for our meeting, and we will work something out together.

Until we meet.

Erf... Embarassed That makes me nervous that I might muff something. So what sort of place on the internet should I suggest? What is it that we're trying to learn from him at the moment anyway? So far I've been proceeding as I would if I was a buyer, but in actuality I'm guessing we want to take them down

I've taken a different approach to Irkshire. I took the "I know something you don't want me to, and I'm telling" tactic.

I've sent emails to Donald, Noel and Jason... Donald being the only one to respond, and he seems to be oblivious to Project Shadow Web. Or at least pretending too... and he also took the ol' Kain approach and threatened me if I attempted to contact him again. Ah... the beauty of being the pain.

I don't plan on contacting Lauren... I have enough trouble balancing the email interactions as is.

I took this approach because so far I've only seen the "I want to buy said protection" tactic thusfar. Nothing wrong with some variety.

EDIT: Lucy, IRC? Perhaps the in-game chat (#xbox360contestdrawing?) That way we can lurk... but then again, I'd expect you to post the logs nonetheless the location Very Happy
