Well historical, but not essential is War & Peace, the doc attached is the partially decoded one. If you want the full thing it's in the Pre-Game thread.

Then next up is this:
Quote:
4 S A H U dfg
S M U R 3 egb
6 S E R W fac
0 5 O A U gbd
2 A O M N ace
3 L N C K bdf

I'm new to this particular scene, and I can't seem to follow what's goin on in the forums too well. But I do know a puzzle when I see one...and I've reduced War and Peace to this:

[EDIT]: What was originally here was a bunch of stuff that everyone already knew...so keep moving, people. Nothing to see here.

re: War and Peace. Check out info on www.geocities.com/composer_a - it indicates that War and Peace provides back story only. Not sure if it's relevant to the current game. I just want to make sure we focus on what's needed to get to the next phase....

We also never received the complete code that Anissa received half of, or as far as I know, who sent it to her:

It could be 1 of 3 as there are bits missing at the start and ends of lines.

Also in the pregame there were a few puzzles to solve that were sent in 3 parts, so that would hold true too.

Good point. Didn't the pregame emails go out at about the same time?

I've PM'd Anissa to see if she'll tell me where the email came from. Since we haven't heard of other junk, yet, Maybe we can back track it to the source and get access, assuming that whoever it is is a member of the Community and we can, maybe see what's in their sentbox.

I'm really stumped on the Harmony code. I've been rearranging it and I can't make any headway on it at all... ugh.

I'd asked Nis the same thing, but no reply yet. It doesn't help that there's been so little activity this week.

The best I've been able to do with the Harmony code is based on what Ethernull posted in terms of the chord progression for A-Minor.

Quote:
Okay, based on what Ethernull posted in terms of the Aminor chord, I'm thinking that the Composer code should be ordered like so:

(ACE) 2 A O M N
(BDF) 3 L N C K
(CEG) P Y
(DFA or dfg) 4 S A H U
(EGB) S M U R 3
(FAC) 6 S E R W
(GBD) 0 5 O A U

Which, if lined up would give:
2AOMN3LNCKPY 4SAHUSMUR36SERW05OAU

Which kind of makese sense since the 3LNCKPY line up together as in Composer1's profile. Problem I have now is I can't figure out how to decrypt. Tried Base64 and ROTing it (and doing both after switching back everyother letter) but no avail.

Closest I've come so far is using a Vignere decoder on 2AOMN with the key "ACE" and getting 2AMIN, which could make sense if the other sets decoded as nicely (tried using ace on all and also each triad - ace, egb, etc, on each set)....

Well, I'm starting to see words in the Harmony code now (I think this is actually a sign of insanity). If I eliminate the numbers, and based on some of what Composer1 has said, I've pulled out "HURRY UP" from the letters and tried to anagram the rest. Obviously, "ACE" shows up as well. The remaining letters are O M N L N K S A S M S W O A U, so I tried to anagram the rest but there are too many possible combinations...

ACE KNOWS ?? (A MAN?) (A SALMON?)

UGH...

From what mbhulo posted in the other thread:
Quote:
Assuming we're in A-Minor, then a-g is the correct order...could the numbers then correspond to letters of the notes? So 2AOMN is actually BAOMN?

I tried this replacing the numbers 2 - 6 with the letters from BCDEFG and started looking at the block again:

B A O M N
C L N C K
P Y
D S A H U
S M U R B
G S E R W
F O A U

or B A O M N C L N C K P Y D S A H U S M U R B G S E R W F O A U

I've pulled out HURRY because it just screams at me as if this is all one big anagram. If I pull out some words that jump out at me, I get:

(B M W F O U S U A S C A) UNLOCKS AN ODD PAGE

???

For all I know, I'm way off base here but there really isn't much direction. ROT won't return anything, it's obviously not BASE64, if it's related to the Composer1 Avatar, I have no idea how (although, by replacing the 05 with F, there are now 31 letters in the code - the same number of dots that appear in the avatar graphic). ARGH!! (pun intended!)

Now that I'm on the avatar again, is Composer trying to tell us that the code is made up of a 14, 4, 8, and 5 letter words? How many words have 14 letters?? Can't be many...Ugh...I'm back off to research...Smile

an anagram cant have that many letters in it with out a clue. it would take us forever to come up with something...
however working with;
A O M N
L N C K
P Y
S A H U
S M U R
S E R W
O A U
the words that pop out to me are things like;
search, ryan, aura, soul, lookup, runaway, anonymos... nothing that really helps...
ive spent the past few days on this and im not getting amywhere. this just all seems to be getting too much.
Im sure we (or just me) have over looked something really simple

We still don't know if "every second letter is the letter before the one shown, the others are just the same." is part of this code or not yet, either.

ETA: Yeah, we know it's probably not, now that I'm looking at the "just one more" post from Composer1 over at the in-game forum. NM.

I've been trying 6x6 Playfair with no luck ... using ACE or AMINOR as the key. I still get numbers and no real readable message. The fact that it's all caps and numbers SHOULD say something to me, but I'm not sure what that is. Same with standard Playfair on the translated-to-all-letters version.

Just for clarification, and please feel free to post your thoughts on this - my thoughts around what we're trying to do are:

Based on the musiccanbegoodforthesoul code, the "Symphony" is a file of some kind that Composer (Jared) managed to upload to the immersion website. My feeling is that the Harmony code (located in the Composer1 profile) leads us to the Symphony file. What's not clear to me is whether or not the key to the Harmony code (to get to the symphony) is ACE or if ACE is the key to unlocking whatever Symphony is...
