What about the wafers?

I noticed that the RK site says (emphasis mine):

Quote:
each trip package includes 3 trip cards (1 ignition + 2 data), 3 series-specific wafers, a magnet, a plastic box, and a plastic sleeve with lanyard.
From: http://www.redkore.com/tel_info/#trip_package

Doesn't this imply that the wafers must have a important role in the trip? So far I haven't read much about them at all.

Well, back to lurking...

Well, I don't have thought through my ideas enough so I am a bit reluctant to cloud your minds with them, but here it goes. Wink

For starters there are different top symbols for each trip series (See: http://www.redkore.com/tel_info/#wafers). But it isn't clear to me whether the hexagram is just rotated or if it's transformed in some other way. I believe this can be important in the understanding of how the package works.

Furthermore, (this have been discussed before) since you can restock on wafers, they are likely to be "used up" in some way. Perhaps you have to fold the wafers in some stage of the trip?

Finally, on the ignition card (See: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/files/2_1051886459.jpg) there are a rectangle and the number one. If this card also is specific to the trip series (which is indicated here: http://www.redkore.com/tel_trips/), the base sequences and patterns could be different for each of the series. But shouldn't the datacards also be different then?

Was laying in bed and thinking about the wafers this morning. On the backside, the back hexagon must represent the magnet, and that you are supposed to put it over (or slide it over) a red hexagon. Maybe the one on the wafer, or more likely the ignitioncard, tho if you keep it in the sleeve the magnet will be exacly on top of the ignition-hexagon.

The black square with the white hex inside. That image on the redcore website is called "core"

Core ---> Go core/start/burst/transport ?

Core ---> Redhex...R1?

Maybe think about "Why three" and "Why translucent" --- try stacking them and looking at light -- or imagine it --- maybe Smile
