Cool - I'm in I love PCT the site rocks.
EDIT: Damn and I'm stuck on the first one! The first block looks like a familiar code, but cant find how to decrypt it. I'm baffled as the other codes so far have been straightforward.

Given this is a competition, what's the form on discussing how to solve the various keyword puzzles. I've got past the first keyword, after trying various different approaches, but now i'm stuck on the next keyword - do I have to wait until April for even a clue?

Gentle hints (but not answers) hidden by spoiler boxes should be fine.
I'm currently stuck in the same place as you, but I'm certain that there will be hints for it here long before April.
Finding the second keyword:

The first block does look reminiscent of base64, but it is actually something quite nifty that I hadn't seen before today.
I suggest that you don't look at the first block again until you have completely solved all of the other messages on the page.

Urg. The only computer I can access at the moment is at work (yes, yes, I know I should be working) which means that there are certain things I can't do as the system won't allow it. Hmph. I want to progress but am not allowed.

thanx for the hint Lysithea, however I'd translated the rest of the page and it's not falling into place, I guess the whopping 4 hours sleep I had wasn't quite enough to refresh me!
EDIT: OK now I'm P'd off I tried that word last night and got the page not found error

I've also translated the rest of the page and cannot make sense of the top bit. I'm no good with computer ciphers, can I have a little hint to point me in the right direction please

I'd like to know if anyone has de-stegged the image. I can't download a de-stegger as I'm using a work computer and won't have access to another for ages.
Spoilered as I don't know how much people already know.[/spoiler]

Please explain Alisdair, only one of the words I try gets me 404'd!! which kind of implies it is relevent. Are you saying there was something that didn't work last night but is working now?

would i be right in saying that the competitions on PPCTrades are like that of PPC and we will not need things hidden in the source code and stuff like that.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Phat: Spoilered to keep everyone happy
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Be bold , try using Firefox NOT IE on the keyword which is giving you the 404 error, this had me stumped for a while too - but your on the right track - honest.

Yes i've de-stegged the image. The download was very, very slow. Had to try a couple of URLs to find the image.
Lysithea: Thanks for the reply, next bit spoilered
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
What have you tried with regard to the next keyword, I was thinking about a cipher where one of the blocks of text is the key and the other block is the cipher text - but no luck so far and there must be a pointer as to which cipher.

I think that, as it's a prize competition, we should not post solves here. Like with The Card Catalogue (how it should be spelt) competition last year.

And now I'm home the 2nd word doesn't work anymore. Both work and here are on IE, yet it doesn't work here.
And did I think to e-mail myself the address, noooo....
Damn my PC, can't open DOS now. I guess you're on your own with this one guys. I can't be bothered having to download c~*# at every stage and what's with the homepage there's nothing on it?
