Were there Ram banners?
I wasn't sure, we spent a good couple of minutes there looking for it. And there were about 8 or so banners missing. We were there about 1:10pm and couldn't find anything...

Agreed. No ram banners. No goat banners. Duplicates of all the others, but not a single goaty one...

From the point of view of a spectator, I had a brilliant time but think I walked further yesterday than I have in years! (My body is still screaming in protest!) It was great meeting y'all and putting faces (and names) to people although I kind of think I won't remember half of them next time we meet!

I would just like to say a big thank you! to Mind Candy for organising such a great day and also to all the guys who volenteered their time as most of them we met and spoke to looked very very cold!

Well, I'm off to edit together the video footage I took into something more suitable in length and content... Smile

Is foul play suspected with the missing 'goat' banners in Gerrard Street?

Acoording to Google (yes, i checked afterwards....) the year of the goat is the same as the ram (or sheep) and there were definitely ram banners - so it was a bit of a tricksy question Rolling Eyes

There were no rams that I remember anyways. Lots of tiger's snake's and dog's. No ovine or caprine ones. But it was very windy.

EDIT: Are there any more event photos? My teams will be going up very soon.

By the way, did anyone do the Trocadero challenge? I wanted to but we didn't have time...

That and the choir challenge, I think we should have done that one...

Do you think we'll get to see some of the video footage they were shooting today? we didn't really get to see it after the Clapham event iirc, but I think this one would be really fun to watch!

well, we had a fab time, though my feet are killing me this morning!
Did the winning team do everything? We just didn't have time!

Did anyone find the phone numbers for one of the questions? And the highest grossing film q - we decided it was a cryptic question, rather than an obvious one, but could have been so very, very wrong!

The hokey cokey and the conga were a lot of fun, really enjoyed being part of that, but it was such a shame the protest got in the way of the est of the Trafalgar square stuff.

We didn't get the Robinson Crusoe clue in the national gallery, but found the right room - we decided he had been marooned, so went to the first maroon room on the guide Embarassed Worked for us Laughing

We were hoping for a bit more at the end - like telling us who got the highest biscuit tower, or the longest word spelt out with people etc.

Hi another member of the red folks (one of the ones wearing the woollen hats Smile very hot in those!) Great time!
We did the Trocadero challenge and may I add we were the 1st to do it and got extra points for it! Very Happy
For the singing we grabbed random people of the streets to sing happy birthday, strangely 2 people out of that crowd had a birthday yesterday....
They were a bit dubious but once the rangers said they would be on channel 4 cos of it, (Thanks guys nice one!) we couldnt stop them singing!

That conga line was awesome, I noticed a sky news cameraman watching that protest (we were some the guys kicked off so they could climb up) and hoped that we would make it on the news with the "sponteous" conga line.

Oh I did think that 200 odd people in trafalgar square just suddenly running as fast as they can out of there was funny, scared a few people, sure most of them ran too!

Yeah we had alot of trouble looking for that goat thing, so Pineapple was right then about it being a chinese year..Doh!

I was wiped when we got back home though, very long day of travelling but def well worth it!

So we heard the annoucement of the morse code message, (thanks to who told us in the pub, sorry not sure who u were) what did it say!???!!!

The phone numbers were for the phone booths outside Les Miserables, so we sent in that you would be feeling miserable, don't know if that was right though.

In terms of the highest grossing film in hands, in Leicester Square, there are handrints of film stars along with the film they were premiering when they made the handprint, we figured it was Mission Impossible as it was the only big budget film apart from the League of Extraordinary gentlemen.

really should start studying instead of sitting here reading unfiction...

I'm the same, I really need to do some coursework.

I can't believe getting 1200 points, how did they not run out of time?

How did people actually know where the phone booths were though?

I dunno, but being 1st to a ranger challenge gets you points, if they managed to do the national gallery thing as well and got all the triva answers correct and in 1st and if they got to base camp 1st in the afternoon. They must of split up for some things. I mean we were 1st out to go when told we could 15 mins early and we ran out of time!

My photos are up here

If I've got anyone's name wrong (or you see yourself and would like me to add a name to the pic) just let me know.

I had great fun, and it was good to meet and chat with those who stood still long enough!

Not sure if this should go here, but this is a transcript of what I got down from the morse message on the South bridge (nearest to Houses of Parliament). It makes no sense, but you should know that a) it was very hard to distinguish between dots n dashes at some points and b) the transcript lines are NOT in order. It took some rather creative juggling of dots and dashes to make anything out at all (ie: logical assumptions regarding the position of marks, or changing a dot to a dash). There are others who did the same, and were working on it last night too, so their work might also shed some light.

I did more last night, but need to work on it again today, but thought I'd share it here, since many hands an all that.

ah, we guessed it was that, checked the phoneboxes, couldn't see the number, then saw whose afraid of virginia wolff, thought that was a poss answer, couldn't find the number there, so in the end tossed a metaphorical coin between miserable and afraid Laughing

Well I did manage to record the briefing at the beginning, was intending to record some of the days nutty events but as most of the events took place in famous places, video cameras were often frowned at and told to stop filming....plus I didnt want to drop my camera while running around like a headless chicken Smile I went to video the end award bit and about halfway thru realised that I wasnt actually recording it! Embarassed more tired than I realised. But I got everything from the results page onwards. (If anybody does have the whole thing on video I would like a copy!!!)

So when I can get around to it I'm gonna transfer the video to the computer and try to put a link up so people can download it and view it if they want. Just excuse the bad cameramanship! But if anybody else had video footage we may be able to make a montage of everything along with photos etc as a group thing???
