And we counted 12 people in the only painting marked "Virgin with child"

There were 2 guys, the virgin and the child - which was 4, leading the the painting in room 4 with the 2 like guys.

I guess we were all looking at different paintings. There were unmistakably 12 in the one we looked at. However all the 'similar men' we found were looking straight out of the painting, so we may well have started at the wrong virgin. Hang on, no, we can't have been, because room 12 had the answer about the money that was lost.

There were indeed 7 buses in the model of the gallery.

We were one of the teams who bought a person = our person was 6'2", and we were hoping he might be the largest one...

Tis possible we were looking at different paintings, the information desk did say there were several ones that could be it. Possibly why we missed the money bit. Still found the right way though in the end.

Grrr, guard told us that that portrait had gone to Paris...

Not that we were following the trail by then, we had given up and had asked someone if any portraits were on loan anywhere, but he did finger the right painting...

We got some really evil looks in the National Gallery when the mobile phones of half the people in there went of together, repeatedly. Embarassed

I wonder if MindCandy asked the National Gallery if they minded?

Though I could be wrong Smile

Well that room was just full of virgins (paintings of them anway Very Happy ) most were "Virgin and Child" but the big one had "Virgin with Child" written on frame (closer to meaning of "Vierge à l'Enfant"). And as psyche says - that was the room with ducats in it - must have been correct. Although we couldn't figure out the "similar men" clue, we fortunately spotted the circular chair.

People seem to have taken a lot of different routes and just been lucky when they were on wrong track! We had no idea what "a head" was and were fortunate to stumble on the picture of the mourners.

That actually makes more sense, but I can't see room 13 either.

Us too! We only found the room with the round ceiling because we showed a guard the bit of paper and he remembered there was a room with petals on the floor. It was a really hard trail, and it probably didn't help that by that point we were all a bit tired and flustered, having realised we had less than an hour to go and we couldn't do any of the Trafalgar Square stuff, due to the protest.

Thanks for posting all of this, the CREW didn't get to see it. Might try and put up one of the crew sheets. Mine's covered in scrawl...

Unfortunately I didn't participate in or witness the biscuit tower challenge. Could anyone please describe it?

How many biscuits were you given? How tall did people manage? How long were you given?

We were given 64 (I think) Asda smart price custard creams, and 90 seconds. Three teams all went at the same time, on separate tables, and points were awarded for highest in each heat, then fewer points for second and third. So even if you just had a small heap of biscuits at the end you still got a few points.

I'm not sure how tall ours was, but it was the tallest in our heat. We were never told which was the tallest over all, but i would quite like to know. We were told we were allowed to split the biscuits if we wanted, but quite honestly there wasn't a lot of time for faffing about.

I've been asked not to by the MC guys... the only interesting things on it were the riddles anyway, which are posted elsewhere Smile
