So, let's see... We've got pirate papers that may not really exist, a "revolution" that can only be broadcast for five minutes at a time, and plenty of cryptic clues that get us absolutely nowhere. The puzzles are either too easy, or waaaay too hard. And now that we've failed this task, are we going to have to wait until Scyne's next broadcast for something new to happen? Gah. Rolling Eyes

There's a limit to how many times a person can bang their head against a brick wall before their skull cracks. If things don't change, I'm done with this game.

A summary of recent events:
KeyMaster indicated we should talk to Scyne to get Jason's phone number and tells us to avoid the revolution.

AspecialSomeone joined #hyp3r and says that he is the revolution and has a personal pirate site that will be up for 5 min. AspecialSomeone's indirect quote contains the lyrics to The Revolution is not an AOL keyword which is an updated version of The Revolution Will Not Be Televised by Gil Scott-Heron

After missing the window a hint from AspecialSomeone leads to this J!NX shirt. Now we have to find AspecialSomeone's site (an FTP server) when he contacts us with the next window.

You know Midnight on a work night doesn't work for me. Not to mention I haven't gotten an e-mail response from Scyne regarding me picking up the papers directly if scanning and e-mailing was too much work for them.

Guys, I'll try and give you ideas for stuff as if comes up, but at this point, my interest in pursuing this is flagging. Sorry, I'm getting too old to pull someone elses teeth.

*face melts off*

Firstly, why can't I reach my account anymore? *cries a little*

Secondly, I just caught up to all of this. In one sitting. My butt hurts.

Thirdly, did anyone notice that DK_Keymaker is no longer a "valid Skype username"?

Fourthish, OW. OW. OW. I think my brain is bleeding.

Why is it that I always get involved in these ARG's a month after they started? Ilovebees, Vaporlofts, triska, etc... 'tis an almost insurmountable task to catch up.

Oh Well.

/me throws his chips on the table
I'm in.

OK, I'm feeling rather lacking in the old mental department at this present moment, but who uses mozilla? Well, I do and had never looked at the Hyp3r site with Exploder. Wow is it different.

Please help me.
I'm new with ARG's. And I really want to experience this one. I'm sure you can tell by yourself how you felt there, on your first ARG.
So please help me. I see you are finding interesting e-mail adresses. Could you past me some of them? I'm really into this.
I don't think I have much to offer (Jason last name, location of the sleeping twins, works of Jason [he's an artist], and a usefull link full with Jason biography [Let's just hope the Jason we're searching is the one I found).), but if you need anything that I have, or maybe you'll need my help later (I don't think so, but I'll try to do my best), or if you just want to help someone with his first ARG, please send me a PM or email me to evilmax6SPLATgmail.com .

Thank you very much!

Maybe my Jason is a total mistake. But I'll share it in the forums anyway. It would be quite funny if it results I was searching for a psychopatic existing man (That guy is obssesed to art, for god sake!).

EDITING:
I admited just now that ARGs are to SHARE what you find and solve the big mystery together, not to do all by yourself. So "Mountain Girl" asked me what do I know and why do I think it's "our" Jason, And I writed this. While writing, I understanded that share-stuff, and here it is. I hope it's help us to get a new point of view. It'll funny, though, if I founded this Jason by coincidence and it's an EXISTING art-psychopaticly-obssesed-guy. So, here it is, my whole theory:

When I discovered the first clue, "yes", I started cheacking the code and so. That was how I discovered Jason. Then, I needed to come back when "he" (Jason was my guess) sees the "sleeping twins.
After a search, I discovered this: http://www.nerdrum.com/works/index.php?id=18
Finding this was a great experience for me, and I knew I can't quit by that moment. So I went on. I went to the front page, where there was an open feedback. I searched for "Jason", and found this comment:

"Seminal entropy: The banality of kitsch and post modernism
(Posted on 01.01.2005, 19:56 CET)

By Jason Stopa,
American painter.

I believe it is high time for a reevaluation of art in light of both kitsch and postmodernism.

Postmodernism tends to gravitate towards a very entropic, nihilistic attitude towards art and life. This is clear by the coupling of art and life, the so-called "apparent" likeness of the two, thus
blurring the distinctions between them both.

Fine art once served the purpose of enlightening the masses, offering interesting perspectives on modernity, and giving ample room for self introspection and reflection. With postmodernism, as well as with kitsch, we have a complete lack of any of these.
The idea of cognitive/latent content, are distrusted like thieves. These two genres are "applied arts." I say this in the sense that
neither offer any real lasting value, outside of aesthetics, functionality as in the case of kitsch, and meaninglessness as in the case of postmodernism. They both marginalize feelings.
The concept of sublime emotions, personal spirituality, or introspective thought are treated as irrelevant.

We cannot negate the importance of art history. All centuries have something to teach us. The idea that the movements of the 20th century were anything more than a design to compliment furniture, shows a complete lack understanding. The "isms" were not an attack on art, sensuality, and beauty, but rather a reexamination of it. For centuries we have pure representational painting as law. From renaissance, Flemish, and impressionistic painting, this pure painting idea is carried out.

However, the 20th century brought us an age of great misfortune. Clearly, from WWI, the Spanish influenza, the great depression in America, Nazi Germany and WWII, Vietnam, cancer, aids, global famines, and disasters, we have a long line of tragedy. This is not to mention the psychological damages that have occurred as a result of abuse, neglect, alienation, oppression, and hatred.
To assume that our view of humanity and of the world would remain the same as that of any other time period, would be ridiculous. Moreover, this would also trigger new, inspiring, shocking, and sometimes disturbing reactions to this hostile planet.
To think that the reactions that would be generated in theatre, music, or fine art would remain the same would be a logical
fallacy. Early modernism thus served as a reexamination, an exploration, a radically new understanding of what it means to be human in an inhumane world. How does one express feelings, thoughts, and ideas now?

The movements were a clean slate. A recreation process. These artists from Picasso, Kandinsky, Duchamp, Mondrian, Rothko, Reinhardt, and Pollack, all felt the need to stop time for a second and get back to what art is. An attempt to reinstate meaning into an unfeeling, uncaring world. I appreciate Odd Nerdrum but only to the extent that he does not solely try to mimic renaissance art; his work also reminds our world of who we are as individuals. His paintings distill time, so that the figures are illuminated with their own selves once again. The person is dignified in their self understanding. I also enjoy artists such as Anselm Kiefer, Joseph Bueys, Wlodek Ksiazek, Vincent Desiderio, and Laslzo Feher. The goal of the artist now is to combine personal and the global, the trite and the sublime, the external and internal, the renaissance to postmodernism, to create an understanding all his own."

From there I found some (REALLY NOT) interesting details about Jason artistic life. I hope I'm up to something.

What do you think? Did I found something? Do you think it was at least a nice guess? As it's my first ARG game, after all, I find your opinion very important. Tomorrow I'll start filling the gaps that I miss and you found. Good luck to all of us!

If you wander over to the Correspondance thread you will find some of that information.

Ther is also a thread for the Website messages.

We need to remember to split this off into the reference section if this gets it's own section...

E-mails:
Keymaker (the enigmatic): keymakerSPLAThyp3rn3xus.com
Jason: historydiverSPLATgmail.com

Websites:
Jason's blog: http://hunterblog.awardspace.com/
Hyp3rn3xus (Keymaker): http://www.hyp3rn3xus.com/
YAR radio (Scyne's DJ gig): http://www.yarradio.com/

IRC
Player OOG chat: irc.chat-solutions.org #hyp3r
Yarradio (people are OOG for the most part, but in-game discussion might happen): irc.mmoradio.com #yarradio

Edited to add:
KGB glad to have you on board...
May I make one comment without upsetting you... Good job on finding the comment on the Sleeping Twins. However, generally speaking it is bad form to copy the entire message from somewhere else and repost it without permission. A link and a few relative sentences from the message would be enough. (yes, I am a copyright and fair use nazi)

You could e-mail Jason (at the historydiver address) and ask him if he is the one who posted that message.

Yeah, but it seemed necessery...
By the way, check this out: http://elonka.com/kryptos/sanborn.html
It says that "Lux" has the official name of "Caloosahatchee Manuscripts". It seems that James Sanborn does this kind of things a lot, and that thing was made by 2001.
Sorry for posting things that you´ve surely seen, but I hope it will help on something.
