Advice on starting a very small, closed game?

I'm basically looking to run my tabletop RPG group through a very small-scale ARG. I've got a maximum of 5 players and, of course, no budget to speak of. Has anyone done something like this? Any advice would be a big help. I'm a fairly good writer and this is new territory for me, but I've been wanting to do this ever since I played Majestic (God rest it's soul) way back in the day.

Cheers!

This is my advice as a player and wanna-be PM, so don't take me too seriously

I think a very small scale ARG is a good idea, but fewer players brings less to the table. With games like Perplex City with a huge fan base (well, it appears so anyway) there must be so many diffrent views on puzzles and what not, and also very many skilled people. If an ARG was made for 5 people, then you run the risk of having slightly less talented people (unless you hand pick them) and also less diversity (which, again, can be avoided if you choose them personally) there's also a good chance that one or more people may drop out, as the case with many ARGs, but in this case it would be very difficult to proceed. Also, unless these people know each other well, there's also a chance that they might clash and cause friction within the group

It does sound cool, and I suggest that you go ahead with it. But don't expect it to run completely smoothly (but really, which ARG does?) so good luck
