Well. It's been a month. I haven't felt much like blogging lately - the atmosphere in the library has been really weird. They haven't appointed a new head librarian yet, not even an interim head, so we just go on with the projects we had running, taking care of the daily business of the library, with Cymbalisty's office still closed and locked since the police came to look around. I think Anna Heath's due to come and pick up his personal possessions sometime soon. She hasn't come yet.

So, I've been trying not to spend too much time in the library. I come in, I do my work, I meet a friend for lunch, I leave on time. It's weird, too - just a couple of months ago the friend I would have always seen for lunch would have been Kurt. But he and Miranda have lunch together almost every day and, although they're always really nice and ask me if I'd like to join them, I don't want to do that too often. Third wheel, you know?

I suppose this is no secret: I miss Kurt. I guess that's only natural, though. And I'm happy for him and Miranda. Things between them seem to be going really well. She has turned out to be exactly as sweet as she seemed, always bringing in cookies and bagels for the guys in the library, helping out without being asked. She's good for Kurt too, so thoughtful and kind. It just makes me wonder... ah, it doesn't matter.

So. Instead of Kurt I seem to have been having lunch a lot with Caine. You know, when we're both free, if we don't have anything else on. And I'm not commenting on that. Except to say that he's funnier than I thought, but seems to have an aversion to washing dishes which does not improve the atmosphere of his apartment.

I've also been having lunch with Jason quite a bit. With whom, may I say, nothing is going to be happening. He's a nice guy, and very attractive, but there's just not that click, you know? We talk a lot about work - he knows a huge amount and it's always interesting to let him talk. It was talking to him today, in fact, that reminded me again about the final page of the Granier diary, which we never got to see. Jason asked about it - he'd been fascinated by what we'd found earlier and wanted to know if we'd found out how the story ended.

I know it's heartless of me but I haven't been able to stop wondering what's on it. Hopefully the police will be releasing it soon. It's weird. I'm both excited and nervous to see it - I can't help but think that after all that's gone on it might not be safe to look at that piece of paper. But maybe I'm just being paranoid.

 		[SPEC]Is it possible that someone in the police department (someone dirty, 3P? Helena Frye?) got wind of what Violet and Cymbalisty were examining, and decided they needed to stop them before they discovered the very important information on the last page (whatever that may be).
So, they killed Cymbalisty (staging it as a suicide), knowing that the book would be taken into evidence, where they could access it and destroy the last page or do something to it so that its secrets can never be revealed [/SPEC]

 		We should ask Anna to pick up Cymbalisty's stuff, there may be sthg in there.

Miranda is too nice to be true, I reckon she's slipping sthg into the food to fudge their minds.

Jason is too nosey, and knows too much, of course he wants to know about the end of the book.

If we are successful getting into the police files we need to check if there's anything about the last page too.

They're all in on it though, all of them, we're the only ones left..

I think if Miranda was actually a baddie, she wouldn't be able to fool both Kurt and Violet...but who knows, maybe she's about to bust out with some kindn fo crazy religious brainwashing. Same with Helena. Kurt probably wouldn't be contacting her so much if he wasn't convinced she was innocent.

Violet's latest blog entry definitely makes me suspicious of Jason, though. His eagerness to see the page is awfully shady...(shady like a kl00, perhaps?)

Yeah, maybe if she checked her email(!) she would have thought about it sooner. Pesky Perplex Citians who don't read every single email from random Earthers they've never met... Wink

Don't know if Jason's behaviour is suspicious just yet - I'm fascinated by the creepy experiments that Granier et al. are conducting on unmarried men with no living parents and I didn't help steal the cube.

Or did I? Muahahahahaaaaa!

No, I didn't, in case there are any mole-conspiracy theorists looking... Wink

I don't think Violet is going to push too hard against Miranda, for fear it will make her look jealous (which she is, because it's Violet and Kurt who belong together, not Miranda and Kurt).

If you've ever been in Violet's position (assuming Violet actually does have a deeply-hidden thing for Kurt), then you know you can't bring yourself to talk down the new girlfriend. You just have to suck it up and keep your pride. Cool

Anyway, Miranda's obviously EverSoEvil Wink , so Kurt will come running to Violet's arms any day now. Very Happy

More likely Kurt will stay with Miranda and make Violet feel worse and worse, and Violet will do something stupid out of desperation and misery, and Kurt will feel bad but wont feel right with either girl, and in the end they will all be alone and miserable. Kurt will shoot himself in the head, Violet will hang herself from a bridge. Miranda will turn tricks in the back alleys, and eventually will be stabbed to death by Sent... i mean a John. (Sente never liked the Ho's)

Is it just me that thinks there is no *if* here? We're being pushed in the direction that this is a must development and that Violet is the only one to have the influence over Kurt to get him to help Anna? I may be blinkered but I can see no other option?
