[UPDATE] Anna Heath's Personal Site 27th March 2006
Quote:
Coming Up Empty
Monday, 27th March 2006
I finally got a chance to speak to Isaac's cleaners late on Friday afternoon. I would have sooner, but you know how work always piles up after a holiday. And I still don't know really how to address all of you after the fiasco with the police. I thought before you were perhaps some kind of faceless, homogenous block of like-minded people, but I've been asked not to write off all of you because of a few bad nuts. And you're right; it's extremely foolish to behave as though you were all eyes and hands with a single mind. It's certainly something I'll try to keep in my head going forward.
At any rate, I wasn't really sure what I'm after, but whatever it is, I don't think the cleaners know anything about it. They're a very sweet married couple, getting on a bit in years, now. Very puzzled about why I'd wanted to meet them, of course. They hadn't even heard anything had happened to Isaac until they came around the next Thursday and couldn't get into the apartment (the police changed the access codes to prevent tampering while the death was still under investigation).
Anyway, Evelyn told me they'd knocked on a few neighbours' doors until they found someone home, who explained what happened. Much dismay all around, so I gather, though it's hard to tell if the Rokitas are more upset over the tragedy or over losing a long-time customer.
Basically another dead end. I'm still scratching my head over those reports. I suppose as long as Kurt is in the kettle with me already, I might as well ask what he thinks, though I'm still too nervous to really broach the topic.

Well, I guess it at least shows that they weren't the ones who cleaned up after themselves, which also implies that he was murdered.

modern_hero... you're talking rubbish again.
(puts on TIAG hat)
The last blog post that Anna made implied that whoever it was that emailed her was barking completely up the wrong tree with the cleaners.
(removes TIAG hat)
How does that imply that he was murdered anyway? If he was going to take an overdose, and if we're reading all of the anatomical reports totally at face value (which I'm not, but I'm making a point), surely he'd have chosen after the cleaners came as the perfect time to check out of this world? Wouldn't be disturbed for a bit, could die in a nice tidy apartment... the perfect suicide.

what access codes? The Forensics statement said that there was no internal security other than a lock/latch on the door.

They probably don't use literal locks and keys...I assume it's something one's personal key transmits, which trips the bolt.

Could it be that the internal security was just disabled when the cops showed up? Perhaps he uses a combination of a keypad and an internal latch?

I note, perhaps a bit [TIAG] that great effort has been made to give us both parts of the name:

Anyway, Evelyn told me

the Rokitas are more
So, assuming heavy hints, time for investigation of Evelyn Rokita.

I think not, chimera. Anyone else feel like we're being hit over the head with the solution so hard it's going to leave bruises?
(Not that I have any idea of what to do next, of course...)

Some of what I am about to say has been mentioned before, but please bear with me. I'm having a thinking out loud session.
It was fairly obvious from the beginning that the apartment was cleaned by specialists, those trained to remove all evidence. Some regular cleaners armed with a duster and a vacumn cleaner would not totally clean the apartment out.
I refer now to that delightful clip we had of Monica's murder. There wasn't time to send round their specialist-post-murder-super-cleaners. I quote:
Quote:
No time for the clean up crew. It's done.
Now, I would assume that these cleaners are the ones that cleaned out Cymbalisty's office. This implies that there is 3P involvement. This means that we class this as murder, of some kind. The 3P are not in the suicide game, they KILL. Plain and simple. So, therefore, I think we can pretty much assume this is a murder of some kind and that the third power ARE involved. We know how clever they are cleaning, look at Gillit Road.
Now, we have Holyoke mentioned again. I think we need to look through the details of Holyoke's murder and see if there are any similarities. [TIAG] Why suddenly mention Holyoke out of the blue like that? [/TIAG] Failing that, we certaintly need to contact Jessica somehow. She may hold the answer to this mystery unknowingly. I firmly believe we are being given a BIG poke here.
We either need some more info from somewhere, OR we are missing something.

It's becuase your an ARG'r and we as a species are suspicious of everything. There's probably nothing in it but I used this Anagram engine, and I got some interesting ones neverless. Feel free to have a go yourself. My favourite is VIOLET RUN KEY. And no, that is not a cue for you all to get mega excited, I'm sure its just coincidence!
