Literature: 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' is about ARG

No this is not an new ARG. Actually it's an old and played one. "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who's_Afraid_of_Virginia_Woolf%3F (select whole line and copy+paste)

Actually the whole setting is that of an ARG (without computers).

    George: Martha...our son is...dead.
    [Silence.]
    He was...killed...late in the afternoon...
    [Silence.]
[A tiny chuckle] on a country road, with his learner's permit in his pocket, he swerved, to avoid a porcupine, and drove straight into a ...
    Martha [rigid fury]: YOU...CAN'T...DO...THAT!

For those of you that wonder what this is. The Puppetmaster just killed of one of the characters. At least that penny dropped for me last night. They play this game of makebelieve to such an extent people around them believe it to be the truth.. but she knows her son can not die.. he's 'just' a character in her and his mind.

Just wondered that it never was discussed here. Man, ARG has been around even in literature

Heh! I wonder if you could make an argument that Martha is the real puppetmaster. After all, she's the one with veto power...

I'll do you even one better. They both are. Each making their own game. Like Nicci French, they collaborate to make this alternate reallity a 'reallity'.

Although...
...she screams a veto, it is not like she actually can make him 'live' again. So what good is that veto?
