Come on then ryandrew - spill the beans! Who are you going to accost?

I may be able to get the Elbow boys to sport a leitmark or two - I'm meeting up with them next week, so shouldn't be a problem. But can anybody beat a Mercury-nominated band? Do they rank above or below ex-BB contestants?

Depends on how high you rank transexuals.

Depends on the BB contestant.

I wear a yellow one, because it's the most "bloody obvious" one with my black trenchcoat. Three or four people have asked what it is since I started, so I've made my mind up to carry a small stack of duplicate red and orange cards around and give them to people. Maybe I should put a sticker on each one with my email address, and see if I get any new players going. The only leitmarks I've seen on other people are people I've been playing with, so they don't really count.

Some of my colleagues saw the TSOL and red ones on the lanyard for my security pass and asked about them. I tried to explain...

All i said was that i was looking for a cube, i was perfectly happy to leave it at that but they had to keep asking questions. And laughing at me. Couple of weeks later i was working on Witch Script at lunchtime and got a lot of weird looks. The dialogue was along the lines of:

"What are you doing, g?"
"Working on a puzzle" (trying to ignore them because i'd just cracked an important bit)
"Why?"
"Err... well, you solve the puzzles, get the points and clues to... the location of the... Receda... cube..."
"Not this cube business again... <sigh>"

Anyone else encountered any anti-PXC sentiment?

I'm not really bothered, I love the game and the cards but it just bugs me when people make fun of something I (and 22000 more besides!) love.

I'be not really encountered anything anti-PXC per se, just more of an "I'm gonna run away from the scary man with pins and cards" type deal.

I get both ends of the spectrum, unfortunately. A few people I know have even begun playing after I so eruditely explained what it's about. Oddly enough, they're mainly teachers... Most people though, especially those at work, just look bemused when I pull out a card or two to work on. Even the prospect of £100000 makes their eyes glaze over. Still, their loss..!

The teacher's around here look at me with an air of "Oh look, shes pulled out those wacky cards again..." Probably from my own doing, when I first started playing PxC I sent everyone mad with Band Name Etymology. I think they were quite relieved when I stopped bringing them in at the end of Wave 2.

Heh, they won't know what hit them now wave 3 has arrived, the lunacy will return!

And, tomorrow I shall conduct a study on the train up to my Dad's. See how many comments I can get about PxC. Smile

the only anti-pxc sentiment i get is my little sister telling me how much of a geek i am when i get excited over new cards ;) she's vaguely interested herself though in an apathetic kinda way, so it's affectionate at least.

everyone else i've mentioned it too just says it seems like too much hard work to be solving maths problems for fun.

but anyway, reminder, the pin a leitmark on a celebrity competition is still open ;) we can make args trendy! or not! (choose your celeb wisely)

rach =)

I'm currently aiming for either a big brother or a corrie "celeb".

My uncle does celebrity interviews. I wonder if he could pin a leitmark on a celeb for me Smile Would that count as a win for me?
