Whoa. He used that term? I know you guys didn't pay attention to what I said about Kevin Smith the first time, but seriously... One Hand Clapping is a weekly column on his entertainment website. http://www.moviepoopshoot.com/onehand/index.html . Look for yourself.

I think I'm gonna shoot these guys an email with View Askew references just for fun.

huh? Who used what term...I was just trying to think of the most zen-like thing I could say....

Isn't that one of the dialogues between the student and the master

Student says something and master responds "what is the sound of one hand clapping"

I figure it's either cla or a vague whooshing noise

Smile

wait....who's kevin smith?

...and Lane?

did I miss a page or something?

How can anyone not know Kevin Smith?? Best writer of our time, man.

I think one of Kevin's replies mentined someone called Yata, as having given him his number #75. I'm gonna e-mail him/her and ask about the number of Cypher's that are in existence.

P.S. Very happy that we have contact with other people apart from Kevin. Very Happy

EDIT:My e-mail got bounced. Maybe yataSPLATstudiocypher.com doesn't exist.

That message was referring to Shunyata, "Yata" must be a pet name Wink

Something just occurred to me.

On the Cypher page, Kevin mentions that Shunyata seems stuck in the 50's (TV dinners and all). Kevin's own use of slang (cats, ya dig?) is very 60's.

So I wonder if "last June" was really 2005?

Oooo...ask him some subtle questions about the date...like who's the atorney general or something

also...he's obviously using the internet efficiently..which wasn't invented to the 70's I believe

Maybe the cypher's exist out side of time

Or is Kevin is a computer program...maybe his A.I. has a 60's personality?

Still no repsonses to e-mails

Since we're bringing out the time-travel theories:

I'm going for the Cyphers to be protectors of the timeline, with each Cypher most likely coming from different time periods originally. But now the Erasers have really messed up the Timeline and things are coming to a head, hence our inclusion. Therefore, Shunyata could most probably be a Zen Monk from 200 AD, and Kevin a cool cat from the 60's.

But its just a theory.

The so-called Montauk Project was supposedly a continuation of the Philadelphia Experiment, and involved time travel. Here's background on the Montauk story -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montauk_Project

Among the more interesting tidbits:

Early work on inventing the Internet and its implementation it were undertaken there. (Kevin could be in the 60's and still have Internet!!)

A "porthole in time" was created which allowed researchers to travel anywhere in time or space. This was developed into a stable "Time Tunnel". An alien monster traveled through the time tunnel, destroyed equipment and devoured researchers. The tunnel was shut down and the creature destroyed. (Yikes!)

Nikola Tesla, whose death was faked in a conspiracy, was the chief director of operations at the base.

Metahumans, Bigfoot, teleportation, extraterrestrials - this story has them all!

Well, that's what the Ideas Fest thing was all about, right? A time traveling criminal? I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's going on.

hmmmm....seems really interesting

since we're doing predictions here's mine for the next day or two

Kevin contacts us with what looks like a rushed messege saying there's no time for training he needs help now...

no response to any replies

Somehow kevin is able to send a clue and we hae to save him/do battle with the erasers and all sorts of climatical sci-fi what not

yah!

Now that I've said this...something totaly different is probably going to happen...just to spite me
