Any forum mods around?

Can we get a dedicated forum for Studio Cyphers before the first case starts tomorrow? I'd rather have atleast a new thread for each case, though I guess we could create a new thread in this forum and could be moved once we have our own forum.

This is going to be the Best. ARG. Ever. Im looking into the WA thing. And seeing as Behold Revelation is going FUBAR (ie-sat. SNAFU), this looks to be my #1 contender right now. Cant wait for tomorrow!!!

And! This one is probably not going to be chat-heavy, so it should be a lot easier for you to play Wink

And we're off! Our first case is called Out in the Cold:
"Kevin, a core member of the Cyphers, has recently been contacting field agents to "bring them in from the cold." Most agents were relieved to finally be contacted after months of silence, but cryptozoological historian Charles Lehner was nowhere to be found. The Wakeful Agents are currently trying to access Lehner's profile for hints to his whereabouts."
Kevin says SC was about to shut down due to something that screwed their computers up in Hachita, New Mexico until he fixed the machines. He's been trying to track down the agents, like Lehner, who've been out of the loop due to the Cyphers' loss of data. He tracked Lehner's profile down to a batch processor at the Cyphers' HQ, but he can't get in.

According to Kevin:
Quote:
No matter what I do, the batch processor gives me some weird text and then asks "How much poison? How many parasites?" I tried my best, but I just can't figure out what it's asking for. Computers are supposed to be logical!

One time, I got it to say "1/3 & 0/3 Correct Observations," but the next day I was back to "0/3 & 0/3 Correct Observations." Pretty frustrating, no question about it.

Here's the text and my answers that got me a correct mark from the processor. I hope it does you more good than it did me:

Many haggard men will be marched through the oppressive streets. Some will be killed. Other men will persevere until they can look upon the clear blue sky with their own eyes. They have been judged guilty by impassive, improbable men.

How much poison? 6
How many parasites? 1

Today's text is:
"At the end of about ten days Jurgis had only a few pennies left; and he had not yet found a job—not even a day's work at anything, not a chance to carry a satchel. Once again, as when he had come out of the hospital, he was bound hand and foot, and facing the grisly phantom of starvation."

And then the same questions. I'm terrible at these things, but I guess we're supposed to convert most of the text to numbers of some kind?

[edit] Bahhh. You submitted before I did.

I got an email this morning confirming the purchase...

Quote:
You are now a Wakeful Agent for the Cyphers' upcoming case.

On May 1st, the Wakeful Agent portion of the Cyphers' site will become active, giving
you access to special content. Shortly thereafter, you will be able to participate
in the Cyphers' first adventure!

And the case is here.

Quote:
Current Adventure: Out in the Cold
Kevin, a core member of the Cyphers, has recently been contacting field agents to "bring them in from the cold." Most agents were relieved to finally be contacted after months of silence, but cryptozoological historian Charles Lehner was nowhere to be found. The Wakeful Agents are currently trying to access Lehner's profile for hints to his whereabouts.

They also set up the forums, which have sections for both Studio Cypher (the fake front to keep people from knowing) and the Cypers (Wakeful Agents). I'm of course the first person other than a mod to post because I'm cool enough of a loser to do that.

I did a quick search for this Charles Lehner guy but didn't come up with anything helpful.

Click on 'Agents', that leads you to the meat of the case.

And I made a thread on one of the message boards, don't remember which, so we've either got two threads in two places or you didn't see mine when I posted... *goes to check*

Am I correct in assuming that you have to pay to play this one?
