Non-US agents can now receive physical objects, email has just been sent out with the link. (I'm sure I read someone mention this somewhere, but just received the email so who knows....might be my first trout.)

The Cyphers need you! One of our Agents, historical
cryptozoologist Charles Lehner, has gone missing. Given the
recent infiltration and sabotage of the Cypher's headquarters,
we're assuming the worst.

details. Don't let Lehner disappear 'Out in the Cold.'

Hi, Synch!
I finally set up gifting last night. You can send a gift subscription to

I hope you find this useful!

Being a Wakeful Agent gives you access to several parts of the web site you wouldn't otherwise be able to see. Mainly these are forums where new clues are posted. The current puzzle (see the poison/parasites thread) involves entering numbers into a computer using a web form that only Wakeful Agents can get to.
Finally, it sounds like there are physical objects that will be mailed to Wakeful Agents. I haven't gotten any yet this first week, so I can't comment on what they are.

You only show up once a week and then act like you're upset about missing everything...
But I'll give you a real answer. If the first week is indicative of what's to come, it's not worth joining ever again.

Svengoolie, you are one unhappy person. You could take a chill-pill or twenty. But anyhoo...thankyou for the real answer, at least.

Part of being a WA is direct contact with the Cyphers. Has anyone tried to e-mail Kevin (more than the one time) or any of the other names that have been collected so far?

albatross: I'm not writing off the game just because we hit a slow spot first thing. There seems to be enough background material set up for a fairly rich game. And the fact that we haven't gotten very far just yet means you haven't missed that much of the game!
On a more serious note, you have to look at the amount of time and money required, and decide if it seems like a good deal. The $10 (US) entry fee is more or less what a paperback book or a movie ticket costs. As for how the value per dollar stacks up, well... I've had more fun at some movies than this game is providing, and MUCH less fun at some others. So it's in the zone.

I just received a post card in the mail from Studio Cypher. Searched here for "postcard" and "post card"...nothing came up so I'm going to post what I received.
The text on the back reads:
Quote:
You may be surprised to receive
word from me, but recent events
made me think of you.
I have fond memories of the old
campus. Wouldn't it be
wonderful to wake and find
ourselves there once more?
I hope you are doing well and that
I will see you soon.
Chuck Lehner
There is an extra space before the word "Wouldn't".
Across the top of is the following sequence:
QPJ1ATG94AOBKMKNV8YHURTAGAO
The above sequence has been stamped on in black ink (it's not printed...the ink smears to the touch).
There's stuff on the front including an SOS Morse sequence, half-blocked words (appears to read DEADDROT ACTIVE but I won't vouch for the first word) and a small cipher that, at first glance, appears to be Mary Queen of Scots. I don't have a scanner handy...I'm sure someone else will get it up in short order.
ps...I'm just outside Chicago.
