Well here goes the race,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
One particular anagramming that I have seen mentioned in this thread should lead you to the answer, even though it may not directly be asking a question.
leads me so far to Doublecross on April 24 with this
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
ONE TONGUE NUMBERLESS LANGUAGES

This uses the following choices, only the last of which I have difficulty in justifying!

USA=U, South Korea=N, UK=U, Georgia=G, Egypt=A, Jordan=U, Israel=E
that seems to fall in the boundries of Erics clue, and with a bit of rearranging might suggest
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
one numbers less language
or a language that uses no numbers which I am currently looking for.

OK, Ive read every fecking page in this thread again.
(to be read like father ted if you please)

So, to save everyone else doing the same, here are the anagrams so far that seem most plausible (tired eyes so I may have missed some?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

(various reasonings for these of course)

ONE TONGUE NUMBERLESS LANGUAGES
LANGUAGE NUMBERS MOST
SUM THE NUMBER OF SINGLE LANGUAGES
THE GLOSS NUMBERS MONEY LANGUAGE
AMICABLE EAGLES
WHAT LANGUAGE USES ONLY NUMBERS
TONAL SOUND LANGUAGE BABIES HEAR
MAKES SOUND LANGUAGE TO HER BABY
NONSENSE BABY LANGUAGE MATERIAL
SNUB SAME USE ONLY MOTHER LANGUAGE

Are we any closer yet Eric? Smile

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Pirahă is one such language
but is wrong
and it's not
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
mandarin - most speakers

nor is it
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
papua new guinea - most languages in one country

apparently there are
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
6912 living languages

now locked out - errrrr!

Yep, I think it may only be a matter of hours. Be careful not to overcomplicate.

I thought the best thing to do would be to pull out all the anagrams from this entire thread, as we arent sure what the confirmed letter list is.

Some may be wrong, its just that Eric didnt say which anagram was the one that led to the solve.

Cheers!

I can confirm it's also *not* CHINESE MANDARIN
Why spoilerize it, if it's wrong? Confused

Keeping it simple would probably be
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
SUM THE NUMBER OF SINGLE LANGUAGES
which, if EvilGenius is correct would be
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
6912
very simple .I am locked out for 24

Hmm. Googling the following :
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"single languages" 6912

Only gives 2 results. Is there a general international consensus for this figure?

My list for the countries as the locals (natives?) know the country (in its short form) is:

AAABEEEEGGGHLMMNNNOORSSSSTUUY

Take out 'LANGUAGE' and 'NUMBER' and you are left with:

AEEGHMNOOSSSSTY

Eric may or may not want to confirm the use of the native country name.

And you may want to check the database by Andy Hall http://www.ukinetmedia.com/perplexcity/ since some of the answers just posted have been tried with no luck.
