Holy mackerel! I think I've got it now (from the clues)! But, for the life of me, I can't think of the music... I'm off to visit my friend, Google! LOL

*edit*
Nope, not what I thought. But, I think I'm in the right 'family'... ? Razz

What I did - listening to the first 4 notes on a piano: "no, it can't be". Yes it can.

Then I tried to google a proper name. Not so easy. Got some names that were very un-famous. There may be one, but that's not the answer I used. I used the one that came immediately to mind.

Are the notes linked to an instrument or to someone singing?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I ask this because if its linked to someone singing it would be too high for a man to sing so has to be a women (unless its one of those men who sing like a girl).

Instrument. Although they might have added lyrics to it in '90. Can anyone confirm that?
Of course there was no indication of octave, so the "highness" doesn't really matter (*UKver2.0 begins to wonder if he's responding seriously to what was meant to be a joke). At this point, though, you can completely ignore the music all together. I never saw the "source" and have no interest in it. I'm sure I've heard this on a commercial or in a movie that made reference to the "source", but I would have never gotten this without being smashed over the head with all the non-music related clues.

Great puzzle. Funny clues. Thanks.

Finally got it, although it was my friend who gave me the answer from the clues...I'd honestly never heard it so would never have got it on my own...

This card is driving me insane. After Ollie posted the notes, I knew what the song was, but couldn't remember where I had heard it. Thanks to the clues, I know where I heard it (and even have an mp3 of it on my computer now) but I'm still not getting the solve.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It shows up 2-3 times in the source right? So is the solve supposed to be through the more general name?

Ashin: yes. Like I said it may have some official title somewhere, but what worked for me is the popular name we all know it by.

Sh1ft,
Well, heck! That's what I thought it was, from all the clues! But, that doesn't sound anything like the notes Ollie gave us. Was that another tune in 'the source'? Confused

I guess I'll just have to wait until I get this card. Razz
