Had a sudden inspiration...

Mystical place...

locations ...FILM locations?

Tried Middle Earth, although I did think that was all filmed on locations in New Zealand.

Any more ideas?

started looking at the 5th star on the right and thought maybe this has some relevance, (it may just be the joker) but anyway that falls on the equator on the Tethys Sea, so looked on some Pangea conversions and that spot roughly became Tibet which is tourist Tagged as Mystical Tibet. So did some research and tried:

Tibet
Shangrila
Shangri la
Forbidden City

All to no avail!!!!

I don't have this card but noticed that it looks distinctly catty when viewed upside-down. Perhaps someone should try "Catbite Gorge". But since this is a map of Pangea, as already notice, then Gondwanaland may be worth a shot. I have not seen that anyone has tried Pangaea/Pangea. Also, someone mentioned these were coastal locations. I'm not sure I agree with that but the ocean surrounding pangea was called Panthalassa. I'm also going to suggest GOBBLERS' KNOB, not because it's likely to be the answer, but because it is the funniest place-name I know (yes, it's a real place!)

There is an X-Men comic that features Pangea, a story about some guy named Belasco - http://www.comixfan.com/xfan/forums/archive/index.php/t-1128.html

Maybe somthing there relates, something about Hell, Hades, Dante's Inferno - they're all related in the story

The next supercontinent being thought upon is called Pangea Ultima

There is a line of thinking that Roraima and Kukenan were the valleys of Pangea and Gondwanaland

Just a newbie 0.02, but the stars, four points and mysticism suggest bethlehem to me...? Not even bothered doing transforms based on pangea though Smile

managed to lock myself out for now, but have done some more research and come up with this possibility

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Agharta, also spelt Agartha. A mystical underground kingdom linked by entrance points throughout the world, the main one being in the himalayas. I think that the modern day locations could correspond to Ecuador, the arctic ocean, india and sahara. These are all possible entrance points to the underground world of agharta or in the case of the sahara, it was supposed to have been formed by the atlantean-lemurian war. Also Pangea and Agharta are names of Miles Davis records! Probably way off track but does someone want to try this?

and another possibility
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
shambhala which agharta is now more commonly known as. its just a variation really along the lines of shangri-la, avalon etc which have already been tried

Apologies if this appears to be going off on a tangent - it's late... too much caffeine and a long day!

I've had a look at a map of pangea

http://volcano.und.nodak.edu/vwdocs/vwlessons/lessons/Pangea/Pangea1.html

And from comparing this to the card I thought that the the four marked stars might all be mountain ranges.

Top star (the range in Russia on the Kamchatka Peninsula - think it has Siberia's largest mountain at 15,000 feet) not sure of it's name though.

Left most star [south america] (possibly Ecuador and the Andes)

Central Star [africa] (possibly Morocco and the Atlas Mountains)

Right most star [Australia] (my thinking is it is North East Aus and possibly the Great Dividing Range - but if you want it near Perth then the Darling Range is down there)

My Geography/ geology isn't much good - but..

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

If the stars on the map all represent mountain ranges then I seem to recall these are formed at plate boundaries and effectively millions of years ago the earth was literally pushed up towards the sky - might the answer have something to do with Heaven or the gods etc. This seems to tie in with the "preordained" question and a mystical place?

Sorry EvilGenius but
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Gobblers Knob and Gondwanaland
are not the answer. If there was any justice in the world
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Gobblers Knob
would be the answer just because it's just so damn funny

The mountains idea of Mathematician certainly looks interesting...but to add to it, how about that bottom right star not being in Aus, but at the right hand corner of India, could be Bangladesh/Nepal/Tibet when India spun round and hit the land mass - Himalayas - Everest?
I thought the place might be 'stratosphere', but few mountains make it that far - certainly not one in Morocco. And, I guess, it would be fanciful to describe the stratosphere as mystical! (I didnt waste a solve attempt on it).
There are so many different artist's impressions of the break-up of Pangaea on the web - has anyone found one close enough to the card to be really sure where these stars are? Or rather where they are now?
This one is one of the best I could find
http://www.uky.edu/AS/Geology/webdogs/plates/pangaea-1.html
but they are all rather unclear on the top star

Don't own the card myself, but has anyone tried their 'ultimate' destination as nothingness, or destruction, or 'the void', etc?

Not

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Amasia, Pangaea Ultima, or the four corners of the earth

Read through an encyclopaedia of imaginary places, hoping there'd be somewhere with four widely separated entry points. Some slight connections, and may try erewhon, xanadu and utopia, to get them out of the way. The overall impression was that no such diverse place exists, so perhaps it is just a vague evolutionary point. However why such precise locations if that's the case.

Hi,

I don't have the card to try myself. Did anyone try my

suggestion from earlier. Also. I think that 3 of the locations could be associated with Diamond Mines (West Africa/Australia/South America). I can't find reference for Norway, but there are mines in the Urals. I am assuming that the X came from the Baltic Craton - is this one that was involved in the Ural mountain building?

If they are diamond mines, then:
