That's a good route.

Thinking about what was there at the time of that map, rather than what appeared there later on and trying to follow the bouncing locale.

I don't have the card, but every new avenue to look in is a good one.

Just a thought, seeing as we're talking about a 'mystical place' that all these places ended up, has anyone had a look at the various monomyths that have cropped up round the world? Those myths that appear in widely different cultures, (hero myths, & great flood for instance.)

I've been reading a book by Joseph Campbell who touches on the idea of all these cultures sharing the same basic myth in their history but, its not helped with regard to these locations.

Course, when the continents looked like this, there was no culture, no humans at all in fact. Hmmmm. Confused

EDIT:

Thinking along the lines of supercontinents and tectonics the following are incorrect.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
oblivion, pre-copernican box, copernican box

Going with the whole Joker idea for this card, could the 'mystical place' be
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
'Perplex City Card 233'? or some derivation of this?

This card is really bugging me now. below are the ideas i have tried to look at all to no avail so far,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
First things first I think the small stars are in the following countries:

Morocco, Ecuador, US, Australia.

Having looked at Pangaea on fold on various animations these locations never occupied the same geographical positioning so therefore the answer we are looking for is either a transitory place like the olympics, a mythical location common to all or an event or happening which occured to all i.e. underwater, extinct.

having searched wiki i could not find any mythical place which linked the locations.

Then I went to another train of thought. the wording "preordained" "Fated" "destiny" gave me the idea of fortune telling, i checked for zodaical or tarot references but could not get anywhere on this tangent either.

My most recent dead end has been thinking along the lines of the birth place of man or something similar but can find no relevant information to support this either.[spoiler]

hope this gives some else some ideas, I just need to get things off my chest

Since we're already floundering for ideas here:

If your tracing of the locations is correct, and your ideas of pre-ordainment techniques as the hint from 'destiny' it couldn't be as stupidly, simply, Polar-esquely easy as:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the Tropics

Could it? Confused
(I sincerely doubt it, but everything is something.)

Suddenly thought I was onto something when I spotted this book...

The Isaiah Effect: Decoding the Lost Science of Prayer and Prophecy.
by Gregg Braden

It deals with his take on the meaning of the Isaiah Scroll - one of the early Dead Sea Scrolls.
It was described thus...Braden takes us on an exciting spiritual adventure to Egypt, Tibet, Peru, and the American southwest as he ponders these questions and shares his epiphanies along the way.
Certainly the bottom three stars could be Egypt, Tibet and Peru. The top star I struggle to follow on any of the Pangaea animations I have found.
Anyway tried
Isaiah Scroll
Dead Sea Scrolls
Qumran
Nope!
I feel there may be more possibilities here though and will investigate further if I can.
Incidentally I do not see much point in spoilering failed tries. Surely spoiilers are for solves or real clues from someone who has solved. It seems to me that if you dont want to know others' thoughts etc then this forum would be a rather foolish place to browse.

Tried "the tropics" and no luck. Currently looking to see if the lost tribes of Israel or the seven cities of gold relate to any of the stars. Actually I am reading about the cities of gold tv program right now but i need a break

This card reminds me of Polar #247

For those that have solved Polar

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I really hope we aren't going to have a silly solution

I guess its weeding out the clues from the junk as usual. Anagrams etc.

Im interested in the mystical place of bermuda or devils triangle theory. Found this which initially looks relevant

http://www.mantleplumes.org/EarthTess2.html

the TRIassic period fits in nicely too.

Has anyone tried to see a pattern with co-ordinates of these places, or seeing where lines between the points would intersect?
I dont know where to start as I cant find a detailed enough map of this period.

Anyway, cant be selfish, I have other cards to solve!

Don't have this card and thinking out loud. Could it possibly be one of these:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The Rift
Rift
Adrift

Could someone try these and let us know if this is a solve or not.

I cant help but think we are looking in the wrong direction for the answer...

I have two thoughts on this, the first stems from an earlier post and the second is a thought on the wording of the question and the clue.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I do believe someone mentioned the tropics, capricorn, etc earlier? Well has anyone looked into a consellation of stars?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
my last thought was on the wording... Its a nagging feeling that we have neglected what the clue said. Looking back. What about looking further back to before Pangea was formed?

Couple of thoughts:

i) Might we be confusing a "mystical" location and a "mythical" one? There is an overlap in its usage, but strictly speaking the latter doesn't really exist, the former does.
ii) I liked Stratman's idea of film locations. But I've had no joy so far in the IMDB for the four places identified above (thought perhaps a Star Wars film or something similar).
