[SOLVED] #042 - Orange - Pirates Vs Ninjas

Text

AVAST

Landlubbers may not know it, but there's long been a deadly hatred 'tween pirates and ninjas, as
ninjas are o'course sneaky swabs who can't swim and make fun o' our beards. One day, a group
o' five pirates came across a secret ninja map showin' where a treasure o' 100 gold doubloons
was buried. 'tweren't no ordinary map though - it had three statements on it sayin' where the treasure was, but only two o' them were true, and one 'o them was false. From this, can ye figure
out which island those lyin' ninjas buried the treasure on? Arrr?

The treasure is on:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Rompechabezas. The two lines saying the treasure is not on Dog Island have to be true, since only one statement can be false. If those are true, then the statement that it is on Catan is false, meaning it has to be on the third island, Rompechabezas

FWIW,

Rompecabezas means puzzle in Spanish, literally something along the lines of to break (romper) heads (cabezas).

Catan is an island in a board game.

The only thing that springs to mind about Dog's Isle is the Isle of Dogs in London.

I feel happy now that I have shared those almost useless pieces of information.

In the bottom right corner of the map in white writing it says ACB3, does this mean anything to anyone?

If it's AC83, that's probably the date the map was made.

It looks to be ACB3 and also appears on card #087. Stylistically the artwork looks the same, so it may just be the signature of the original guest artist?

Didn't find this posted anywhere.

ACB3 is the signature for the artist, Anton Bogaty.

Found his website. didn't take me too long Wink :

www.acb3.com

Had a bit of a look around, he's definitely the artist for some of the puzzle cards and most of the PX sites. His portrait drawings are exactly the same style.

Some of the drawings are a bit 'nudey' , so if you're offended by that Shocked , don't go there. It's pretty tame from what i've seen.

Something strange I noticed...

look at the 'T', does it look strange to anyone else? At first I thought it was just the font but compare it to the black pirate card and it looks like it was deliberately changed...
