For those who are still stuck (like me) Von's Hint is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's not as easy as pie

I'm getting really confused with this one.

I agree with alcmec seeing as a few have already solved it i dont see why the answer cant be put up even if it is only the first letter of the color even then it will be some form of a challenge

There will be nothing enjoyable about given the answer. It's not hugely difficult. Half an hours research will tell all and be more enjoyable to solve.

I'd start with the Wiki - that's where I found the answer.

for me the clue was in the wording on the card

At first like a lot of people I found the hints a little too cryptic Sad

But I went back to the card and started really thinking about "...pleasing on the eye..." and "...specific pattern..." then:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I remembered learning from an artist's book about the technique used by classical painters to create pleasing compositions. That it can be acheived by painting to specific mathematical ratio using a rectangle of proportions such that can be divided into a square and another smaller but identically proportioned rectangle. Wikipedia.org has a great page on it.

Uhtoff's clues THEN made perfect sense Razz

Of course jbjbaby's hint would have got me there quicker...

By the way European Chris, PI is no use at all! Wink

Ok I've been going over and over this one, it is in fact the
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Golden Ratio

So the sequence will be
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
07538

Unfortunately, I'm having trouble due to colorblindness deciphering
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
which color corresponds to which number

If anyone can help with that, let me know PLEASE!

Thanks

Yeah, no problem Drizzt (my colourblind friend Mr Pitiful will benefit from this as well!). But you've made a mistake somewhere with your sequence Confused , go back and check it then you can use the following to get those points! Wink
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The sequence begins as follows:

green SQUARE BEAD black green blue yellow pink pink turquoise blue blue red purple turquoise blue turquoise purple blue purple blue clear yellow purple orange...

That all you need to assign 0-9 to the colours as long as you're using the correct "irrational number" of course!

ok?

There are 200 beads if that helps anyone, and that does not include the block.

Thanks, Doomsdayred. That helps a lot! Wink
The best picture I can find online is at Jaffas World, and it's still hard to see the colors (the square one is green, and not black?)... and the transparent ones seem to blend together. Confused
With that said, if I counted correctly, would the first of the next 5 beads be...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
clear?

Thanks to pjm1974's hints, too! Wink
