handling the email

k, heres a question for ya.....

does anyone out there know of a software package (server side or otherwise) that would help be keep track of of lots of email?

optimally it (my dream software) would be a server side app that would automaticly download the incomming mail into a database that would sort incoming messages into a sort of "case file". it would need to have the ability to send replys from the app. so i could keep track of incoming and outgoing replies. and it would need to allow opperation from remote. so multiple people could admin the mail.

anybody know of anything like that out there already?

It looks like SproutIt Mailroom has what you need. It's a server side app. From their marketing stuff:

Quote:
Just sign up for an account and point your sales and support email addresses at it. You can forward your email or even have Mailroom check your existing accounts for you using POP.

Once inside Mailroom, just answer your email like normal. Mailroom automatically saves the answers and starts to suggest them as replies for future email. What's more, Mailroom uses the same advanced technology that powers modern spam filters to read the contents of your emails and learn which responses go with each question.

After just a few hours of use, Mailroom can capture the answers you send to the most common questions you are asked and starts to suggest them. Not only can this save you a lot of time, but your customers will appreciate the longer, more detailed replies you can send them now.

Mailroom can save you a lot of time when used on its own, but it really shines when you use it as a team.

How do you make sure the right person in your company answers each email? Most software would ask you to spend your time configuring complex routing rules to make sure email gets to the right person.

Not so with Mailroom. If you get an email in Mailroom that you think someone else in your company should answer, just reassign it to them. Mailroom will learn automatically who should get what email and start doing it for you. Soon you won't have to reassign emails at all.

And what if you change responsibilities? No problem! Just start reassigning emails and Mailroom will follow right along. All with no setup.
