Isn't the whole "taping or chalking the outline of the victim" just a myth used by hollywood? Surely in actual crimes any such action would be a risk of contaminating the crimescene?

I'm with Obes, i've never seen a real outline in a crime scene photo...tho the crime scene photos i've had to look at had the body in them, making outlines unnecessary. This picture obviously isn't official, since there's not evidence of the crime in the picture and who knows how long after the crime it was taken.

yes, it is just a myth. No real law enforcement would ever do that, it would mess with the crime scene

A few more questiones that we might want to poke the narrator for...
Was it ever stated if there was sign of forced entry or not, and was the door to the flat locked when the landlord discovered the body? If yes, just the doorknob, or was there a deadbolt as well?)
I really wish we had a bit more crimescene info before blindly going into an interrogation..lol

Actually, I could point you in the direction of a real crime scene that actually has the whole "chalk outline" clearly visible, but that would just be nasty and in bad form all around. However, I can say, from what I have seen, that the police really do use the "chalk outline" method of displaying where a body was located at a crime scene.
EDIT: I will add that it happend in Mexico, so I would happen to agree with the comment below this post.

so the lesson here is that it varries from department to department.

No freaking way. I was sure that they never did that....hmm...
EDIT: I looked this up a bit, turns out that CSIs sometimes use glow in the dark chalk to outline bodies. So I guess you're right...

Yeah... ummm... just kinda wondering here if anyone knows who is going to the chat room and what questions are going to be asked? I mean, we are kind of cutting it close here.
As I had previously posted and thought, I will be at work when this all goes down, so if someone can please log the chat and post it in here that would be great.
Thank you.

2. For a person that was stabbed 7 times there is no splatter, not stains on the carpeting or furniture. Evidently the deceased has no blood to speak of. (the following is said with my tongue in cheek- it is not meant as real speculation) Maybe the stab wounds were to cover up another manner of death?
the body of the email said that the picture was taken after the scene was cleaned up. Rather unhelpful, eh? i mean, thanks for destroying all the evidence provided by the crime scene, Mr. Narrator. So we have no visual info on blood splatter or additional artifacts and gore left at the scene.
Even if the PM couldn't make a big "mess" in the room (looks a bit like a Graduate Student Lounge that some departments offer that are closer to classrooms and Professor offices) It would have been nice if they had used a *sheet draped body* to represent the deceased. At least that way we would be able to have an idea on how the person was positioned (and the *sheet* could have signs of soaking up the ichor on the floor if they couldn't make a mess in the room...
*sigh* or contact the Theater department of the local Community College next time...

Ok everyone.....here are some questions for those who get stumped easily during the interrogation with the drug dealer
Q1: Where were you on the days of April 9th through the 11th?
Q2: When was the last time you saw the victim (Jack) alive?
Q3: What was your relationship with the victim?
Q4: When did you last communicate with the victim?
Q5: What was the extent of the victims drug use?
Q6: Have you ever been in the victims flat? If so, how long were you there?
Q7:Did the victim ever refer cusomers to you?
This is just a brief set of questions.

Also ...
Do you know any of these other people?
Danny Morris,Jenny Morris, Joe Foggerty, Laura Green, John Harrison, Stephanie Lyons.
Did Jack ever talk about his relationship with Laura Green? His father? His Boss?

So far, no Narrator. We're waiting in the chat room, questions ready to fly! Hopefully he and our suspect show up soon.
