Season 1 ?

Hi,
don´t know if someone asked that question already.
Does "Season 1" indicate there are more seasons after wave 4 ?

regards

Michael

We currently have no idea what the plans are after the Cube is found, all the cards are released etc. I'd imagine though that if it's a raging success we're pretty darn likely to get a sequel.

Going by the interview Michael Smith gave in this months GamesTM Mag #43, there aiming for world domination, with Books, TV Shows, Videogames and a series of movies if they develop PXC correctly.

And, knowing me, I'll read all the books, order all the shows on DVD, play all the video games, and dress up for all the movie releases. Laughing

There's a special section for questions that is, funnily enough, actually called Questions/Meta. Fancy that! (PS: No biggie, though.) (PPS: Season 2 is the generic name for "whatever happens in Perplex City after we've found the cube" and is generally taken to mean a new mystery and another 256 cards to slowly bankrupt the nation's geeks.)

Who's to say that the theft will be solved and the cube retreived during Season 1? Admittedly, I would feel a little disappointed if there was no cube resolution in Season 1, but I don't think it has been explicitly said anywhere that this will happen in Season 1. (But if someone has an article to the contrary, please point me to it. I'd love to be proven wrong on this point.)

I can offer this: In NYC, speaking with the peeps at the PCAG event, the fFollowing was stated:

"Season 1 should end this year -- we hope. We really don't know when the cube will be fFound. Masquerade took 3 years to end, and only then by cheating."

So there was a sort of connection between the cube discovery, and Season 1. Naturally, MC have proven themselves to be extraordinarily adaptive, and may, at some point, decide to Roll out the next season of puzzle cards, regardless of cube discovery.

Hmm... interesting...

I wonder if the next season will coincide with a supreme twist in the story?

As in the Third Power were stealing The Cube to protect it from Organisation X.

I sent an e-mail to MindCandy about writing a story about all this (the hunt for the cube, weird puzzles, etc...)

I have included these e-mails below:

From me, 2nd March

Dear Sir or Madam:

My name is Conaire Hodgson, also known as modern_hero in the Perplex City game that you host. In my spare time I am a writer and I was wondering if I could write a story based aroung the previous and ongoing events in the hunt for the cube? I would have to embelish or change the story in parts to make it readable, but it is a project that I would gladly take on, if given your permission.

I would be grateful if you could reply to me as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

modern_hero,
Cube Hunter.

Hi Conaire,

We'd be delighted if you wrote a story. What I would like to know is exactly how you'd be publishing this. We are perfectly fine with fan fiction, but obviously we wouldn't be able to permit selling any stories based on Perplex City. If you can let me know some more, then I'd be able to help you better.

Thanks,

Adrian

Myself, also the 6th

Well, I haven't thought that far ahead yet, but if it comes down to it, fanfiction.net or fictionpress.com could both put it online.

What I mean when I say a story based around perplex city is something stolen from place A, but due to some problem (some impending war, internal coupe, etc...) the owners of said item (a rare and ancient artefact said to have mystical powers) are unable to get to place B (where it has been hidden by the thieves).

Instead they enlist the help of an impartial detective agency (guess who?) to help with finding the object. So along the way, puzzles start to show up, leading the story along, with revelations about the original owners (perplexians are all claiming to be high and mighty, but murders, missing people and a most wanted list? how much better are they?)

I'd work in the puzzles on a number of the cards somehow and then... come up with an ending that coincides with how the cube hunt goes...

So get back to me, although I may be too busy solving puzzle cards after wave 3 is released. Wink

Hi,

OK, this is interesting but I can see a few problems. Firstly, it could be awfully confusing since it would end up directly contradicting many plot points that will be revealed in the future (e.g. about the original owners). There are also issues about reproducing the puzzles on the cards.

Adrian

So I'm thinking that that would be a convenient turning point between season 1 and 2.

Sorry for the stupidly long post, just wanted everyone to follow my train of thought.
