Well, I didn't get to even do the last puzzle until after 2 pm CDT so I am sure I am not one of the 10K, but it still gave me the contest entry form, then after going back to the google homepage, it has a reminder to register - I clicked the link & sent the info again & it said I was already registered.

So I guess it's wait until the 15th - 18th to see what happens

I'm no lawyer, but I don't think they can legally announce any winners until tomorrow at 1pm EDT. This is a snippet from the Rules:

Quote:
Daily Puzzles may be solved in any order the participant wishes before 1:00 p.m. EDT on May 11, 2006 ("Phase 1 Deadline").

So technically, the contest isn't over, it's just over for us, who've already solved the last puzzle. I think the end of contest message we got doesn't have anything to do with being a winner or not. Hopefully we'll find out tomorrow.

Well now it's letting me register too. It never did let me enter in my google ID to verify my entry though. Confused

I just did my last puzzle this morning and it still asked me to register. If I get a cryptex, I'll actually go see the movie.

I'm getting a new message on my google homepage. It says:

"Thank you for participating in The Da Vinci Code Quest on Google. We hope you had fun.

If you enjoyed the Quest, then you won't want to miss The Da Vinci Code movie, in theaters on May 19. "

Anyone else getting that or something different? I finished yesterday shortly after the opening and it asked me for my gmail name and my address and stuff.

(CUT - Stupid details that didn't mean anything)

EDIT:

And now I'm a big fool. I just realized the "Puzzle Completion Form" is the Observation puzzle with the three answers you had to give.

The "Contest Entry Form" is the form we all filled out.

So now, we all got timestamped when we entered it, and that will determine who the 10,000 people are.

I had to go into a meeting at 10am pacific time, and didn't get out until 11:30am, so I'm quite sure 10,000 people filled out that contest form in the hour and a half I was unavailable. Sad

Yeah, it changed for me as well. I believe the reason is because the contest officially ended at noon CST (1pm EST) today. I still haven't recieved any email. I'll post here if I get one, though.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it changed at the same time that the contest ended also. No confirmation yet for me either.

Max, the Puzzle Completion Form was the single page that asked for your Google ID that appeared AFTER you answered the last puzzle correctly. The timestamp on THAT page is what decides the order of winners.

When you entered that info the page sent you on to the next page that collected more details. The timestamp on the second page will only be used if they need a tiebreaker for the google ID entries.
