This is all the page says:

Quote:
If you're one of our finalists, congratulations! In order to reach the end of the Quest and be rewarded with untold riches you must quickly and correctly complete the Final Challenge. However, you're too early as the Final Challenge has not begun yet.

The one to complete the Final Challenge in the least amount of time from start to finish will be the chosen one. On May 19th, the Final Challenge, which is a time trial, will be made available to you for 48 hours. Please note that this is not a race and that you don't have to start as soon as the Final Challenge is released. You can begin whenever you like during the 48 hours, but prepare well, for once you start there is no turning back. The player who completes all five tasks with the least cumulative time, not the first to complete, will be the chosen winner.

The Da Vinci Code is in theaters worldwide May 19th. Visit the official movie website at www.SoDarkTheConOfMan.com.

So I assume the note inside the grail, in addition to telling you the website, provided a unique entry code that you enter to start your clock running on Friday? Please don't post that info!

The site was the only thing inside. I guess your user name is the entry code to the final puzzle.

I'm actually quite upset, I logged into my google page, and the screen says "You have successfully completed 23 out of the 24 puzzles." However, I even got an email from them last week saying I completed all 24 puzzles and was successfully registered. Since I haven't been able to get the mail yet, my complaints might be in vein.

Well there is another difference between the crypteces that we got in the mail and the ones that you can buy at www.noblecollection.com. As you can see by the pix above, the teeth on the inside piece are sorely lacking in their ability to require a 5 letter word. You actually only need the word "???il" to open it. The 1st 3 don't matter. On the website, you can see that they have 5 teeth. It also says that you can easily change the code to whatever you want. But the contest winners have to take apart theirs to change it.

I sent an email to the people at www.noblecollection.com about our half functional cryptexs. and thought I would share with you guys. I'll also let you know if they respond. I'm kinda pissed about it.

my sent email to noblecollection wrote:

I received my Davinci code replica cryptex that I won in the mail today. I couldn't help but notice that it contains only two of five pins that lock it. Even though the notches are cut in the letter rings for all five pins. Than while looking at your site I saw you have them on sale, only the picture you have shows a cryptex with all five pins. I would appreciate it if you would explain this discrepancy to me. While it was technically free for me the twenty-four puzzles that needed to be completed took a considerable amount of time. And as we all know time is money. So I feel those of us who put time and effort into this may have been short changed if you did indeed make fully functioning cryptexs to sell and left us with a half functional prize.

Now that you put it in those words, I am pissed too.

The only positive is that this distinguishes between the prize ones and the store bought ones. Since the giveaways are limited edition, they should be worth more.

Note that at

www.noblecollection.com

they have a mini cryptex and a regular size one. What size is the cryptex everyone is receiving? Also noted the cryptex in the picture for the regular size. It only has the 3 teeth like the one in the picture of the forum. Note the mini cryptex has 5 teeth.

I hadn't noticed that the large pic on top of THIS PAGE
does indeed show two pins. But if you look down you will see that the pic for the mini cryptex shows all five pins also on the MINI CRYPTEX PAGE it also shows five pins.

The one that we got in the mail is the mini (which has 5 teeth on the website)

I come to this conclusion by way of the tape measure.

Maybe I'll weld a chain to the two halves and make the worlds largest bike lock.

Same thing has happened today to my husband and myself. We are not happy in the least. We both received 2 emails saying "This email is to confirm that you have completed all 24 puzzles bah blah blah.."

If it weren't for the meeting I had to go into right when the 24th puzzle was released, I would be doing the happy "I got a Cryptex" dance as well.

I haven't been home yet to see if I got one, but I highly doubt I was one of the 10,000 people when I solved the puzzle an hour and a half after it was released.

"Don't cry for me.... I'm already dead...."
