Hmm.

I just signed up. Haven't received anything yet.

Although I do wonder just how much money it is that Cthon's going to desire from us...

I want to know how long this'll last, personally (hi, I'm new & joining, etc. Smile ), because I'd love a very extended fantasy sort of ARG but if they're just promoting a TV show...

Maybe I'm just old school, but I don't see why I have to give them my cell phone number... maybe I don't want to interact more deeply than the internet and email. I'll keep my eye on this one for awhile.

And now, we wait.

Hopefully, we won't discover that Chthon's been killed by an avatar of humanity, or that said avatar has terminated Shub-Niggurath as well . . .

Yes, that is a Quake reference.

Part of the alure of ARg's is that you are never sure how long it will last or where it will take you. The length of time they run (not including the games that have imploded or gone through a meltdown) varies from about 5 or 6 weeks, to several months (usually less than 6). I think Perplex City (PPX) so far has the longest running game on record, starting... Early March 2005 Shocked (I hadn't realized it had been going on so long...) The usual game runs .... well. none of them could be called "the usual." I'd say the bell curve you would get most hitting the 2 to 4 month range.

Intros

I really like the idea that this arg is a precursor to the blade tv series. It makes sense that the registrar would be MTV/Viacom, since a lot of the advertising I've seen for this is on Spike, and I'm pretty sure that Viacom owns Spike. They own half of all media. Wink

Night565 => Night

Yeah, "Night the Vampire" or "Vampire Night" sounds a little cheesy, contrived, and not at all cool, but hey, that's me. Wink

Nope, not I. Did it appear to be related to HOC? If so, would you mind posting the text?

Sorry if this seems over-eager. I just signed up to HOC today, so I'd hate to miss out on anything because of my timing.
