I sent Ewan the code that I got from The Oracle and got this last night.

Thank you. It worked. However is it that you know the Klepsydra keycode?

I wrote back.
I simply asked The Red Queen for it, and lauded her with flattery.

I am sure she wanted you to have it, for she could not get to you in such a place. Rest assured I am not one of her minions, dear Ewan, but be careful....she is not happy with you and is not a "lady" despite her opinion to the contrary.

What have you done to incur such wrath and how can we help? Do you need to return to your "Aspect"? Do you want to? And what will you do if not what you've been doing for eternity?

I don't know anything about a Red Queen. Are we talking Alice Down the Rabbit Hole? "Off with his head!" and the like? Surely she can be no more dangerous than Dr. Morrice. I don't know what I might have done to incur her wrath. If she is the angry red woman in my dreams then it has something to do with sleep itself, I think. I don't know what capital-A Aspect is, or what the rest of your message is asking.

Hmm, sleep, eh? The Greek god of sleep is named Hypnos. Roman counterpart is "Somnus". See http://curington.tripod.com/hypnos.html and http://www.theoi.com/Khaos/Hypnos.html

This turns out to be rather interesting indeed. First of all, Dr. Morrice has been hypnotizing Ewan. Guess who hypnosis was named after?

Secondly, Hypnos had a twin brother, Thanatos, the god of "non-violent death". SPEC: Could this be another form of the close Hugin/Munin relationship?

And lastly, in Thebaid 1.336, Hypnos is mentioned in a passage along with "the Titanian Queen" who is apparently Selene the Moon. In E-Card #3, the Red Queen herself quoted Titania, a character in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". See http://www.theoi.com/Ouranos/Selene.html

So, SPEC:
Ewan = Hypnos?
Munin = Thanatos?
Red Queen = Selene?

Taking one little word a little far, I know...
