and unless there's something tricky about the audio message that I'm getting, the phone system has been completely borked right about now.

Everyone's probably calling the number at the moment. It's going to be busy. Unless maybe the audio message is something? I'm a bit lost anyway. I cant call the number because if my parents caught me I'd get in trouble. They're to protective

Anyone see the manuscript Sawyer was reading was from the book "Bad Twin", just released from author Gary Troup? Don't know if it will have any barring on the ARG.
Anyways, I have a question. Is this thread going to be the main destination for all North Americans for the duration of the game, or are we going to merge threads after Australia joins in tomorrow? I thought there was something about different hints to different continents, so we are all going to need each others help on this.

Has ANYBODY been able to get through to the number yet? I've been redialing continuously, and nothing. I don't think it's just busy; I placed my first call about 4 seconds after the number appeared on screen. Surely they have a decent number of phone lines ready, and they wouldn't all have been swamped in the first 4 seconds.

To kill time Ok, so maybe the lines are busy... or maybe they won't open up until the west coast finishes... whatever... found a link that is very interesting... Hunting down the path of the "Bad Twin"... I had already checked out amazon, and yes they are really selling it... But something new just popped up on the amazon page.... Cool "in-game" stuff...
This text is now on the page...
"Amazon.com Exclusive: Author Gary Troup delivered the manuscript for his hotly anticipated thriller, Bad Twin, just days before he boarded doomed Oceanic Flight 815. Watch the recently uncovered video clip of Gary Troup on Book Talk interviewed by Laird Granger talking about the controversy surrounding his mysteriously out-of-print first book, The Valenzetti Equation, and his new novel, Bad Twin."
It has a link to an in-game - (or seemingly in-game) video...
The amazon page is this exceedingly wide link
Go check it out while waiting for the busy signals to die out!

hanso foundation You guys have seen the new Hanso Foundation website, right? If not, check it out: thehansofoundation.org
When you go to sign up for the newsletter, the site is "taken over" by a person named for persephone. She asks for the password, but I don't have it. She then directs you to call the phone number in the ad.

I got in. It's the Hanso phone queue.
If you get on, try Peter's extension. It's great. XD
I haven't been able to get on again to try the others, but I'm sure someone will have audio soon.

It's the same exact phone lines and messages as the UK numbers as far as I can tell.

those are low-tech fan sites that have been around for awhile-- not connected to the game.

Two option ones Ok, so calling the number and choosing option one will give you two messages, one useful, one not so much. Why are there two different messages, and how do you get one instead of the other?

i actually had to call back a few times to get most of the messages...also the persephonie one is time sensitive, meaning you HAD to call in a specific amount of time of the ariing of the commercial in order to get her message apparently..
