In Joop's Corner, if you click on active projects and then Institute for Genomic Advancement, nothing happens. Clicking on all the other ones work, but not that. Perhaps a clue to what could be put in in the hidden text box by his top hand?

A reminder.

Unless you want angry brits to get on a plane, track you down, and whack you over the head with cricket bat...

PUT ALL REFERENCES TO THE TV SHOW IN SPOILER TAGS!

It is most explicitly not just americans playing this. In fact, all signs point the the ARG being run from the UK! Please please don't spoil the show for people.

I've been trying... I found an email address for Mittlewerk embedded in one of the flash files, but it seems a little odd:

mittlewerkSPLAThansofoundation.com... missing the 'the' and isn't the firstname.surname format of Hugh's. Anyway, I've tried emailing mittlewerk in every way possible, telling him I'm an employee of Pake Heavy Industry currently involved in an active project and that I have misplaced my project manual.

All have bounced back.

A few things - I've been looking at the EMI page. The diagram at the bottom is a standard way of describing the magnetic properties of a material, called the Hysteresis Loop (http://www.ndt-ed.org/EducationResources/CommunityCollege/MagParticle/Physics/HysteresisLoop.htm for an explanation)

Odd they chose to specifically mention that the photo was taken in Bad Salzdetfurth (wonder if this is significant, or if it's just got an ominous sounding name?)

This may be old news, but on the Hanso website, on The Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development Program page, on the world map, when you click on the Burmuda Triangle hidden red cross symbol, there is an empty grey box next to the grey and white map, if you float your mouse below that grey box, another grey box appears with some code inside it.

Sorry, but just because Alvar Hanso and the Dharma Initiative haven't been mentioned on the show in the UK yet, I can't see why we should spoler tag it. This whole ARG is a spoiler for you at the moment, so maybe you should avoid playing it until the UK version at least mentions Hanso?

I dont think thats fair, plus if we do wait - its going to be a few weeks at the least, and then we would have to read tens of pages to catch-up. Its easy to spoiler tag things. Rolling Eyes

First of all, how do I get any tag to work? The text shows up in the preview, not the effects.

Secondly, I'll just say that you won't have to wait very long to find out how Alvar Hanso's related to the show.

(Moderator here, the answer is to uncheck "Disable BBCode in this post" when you post, or change the default in your preferences -- catherwood)

If you download http://www.thehansofoundation.org/favicon.ico you'll notice that it's not your normal .ico file. It appears to be a Mac .psd (Photoshop) file with the wrong extension - opening it just gives the Hanso logo. It's possible that it was just not saved in the correct format, but I imagine there may be other stuff in there.

Yeah, but the next 2 episodes are next week, there are currently about 5 new pages or more per day on this thread.

Noticed another thing this morning:

I went to the Hanso site and actually watched the whole intro again because I was eating breakfast (Cream of Wheat). I noticed when she points to the first box (on her right, our left) there is something different.

Below "Television Ad" (which is the last one on the site now) there is a link for "Contact". That's not an option currently for us???

Just observing.

Given that the hold music on 1.877.HANSORG contains an ad that starts "If you post your resume on monster.com...", I went over there to look at resumes.

Search for "Hanso" and you'll find a resume titled: "Hanso Exec seeks future employment." The free preview says the poster's most recent job title was "Communications Director" and he's looking for a job as "Human Relations Executive." Is Hugh MacIntyre out of work? Is he about to be? Maybe we should expect him to leak some job-threatening information soon...

I can't read the whole resume - looks like it costs money. Is anyone signed up for this? Can they get the resume for us to look at??

To find the monster.com bit you have to go to the Employer section and do a sample search of the resumes.

I was just going back through this thread and I noticed this. Has anything further been done on this lead? It does look like it costs quite a bit to see a resume, so, does anyone have access to this service already? Can we check out this resume? Maybe it's a dead end, but I thought I'd bring it up again since it seems to have been lost in the shuffle.

Here's a link to an image posted in Lucy's post: cool monster ad

i thought that maybe if you could login as mcintyre rather than as an employer you could view/edit the advert that was posted.

at

http://my.monster.com/Password/ForgotPassword.aspx

i entered hugh.mcintyreSPLATthehansofoundation.org and it sent an email off to it, which i assume means that mcintyre's email address is definitely registered on monster.com

we have his name and phone number, would the hanso foundation's address work perhaps?

is this going a bit far, though; i mean it's technically fraud from monster.com's point of view isn't it?

There must be a hint in that file.
If you open it in a editor there is a lot of stuff in there, but I don't know what there is regular for such a psd file and what is not.
There aren't any obvious hints though.

I don't think that the PSD has any relevence, simply a badly saved file. Photoshop can't save as icons last time I checked.
