In your address bar type:

alvar.hansoSPLATthehansofoundation.org

See what happens...I tried it with other board members names, but only hanso's brings up the loading image

*edit*....hmmm, it brought up a loading gif image with the numbers 4,8,15,16,23,42 used as the percentage loaded....its not working now though...nvmd!

Sorry, but just because Alvar Hanso and the Dharma Initiative haven't been mentioned on the show in the UK yet, I can't see why we should spoler tag it. This whole ARG is a spoiler for you at the moment, so maybe you should avoid playing it until the UK version at least mentions Hanso?

Refering to anything about the Hanso group that's uncovered solely on the show should be spoiler taged. No matter which eppisode or season it comes from. My comment was not directed at Hanso, but other spoilers from the TV show that have appeared in cleartext.

The Lost Experience has been self contained, and has NOT contained season two spoilers. Please don't add any of your own. It pisses people off and spoils thier enjoyment of the show. There's no real reason for you to object since it's so easy to spoiler tag.

ps. Stop being so arogant to assume that us in the UK are simply a second thought. As I mentioned, this game ORIGINATES IN THE UK.

Howdy again!

Firstly, those of us in the UK who watched the E4 broadcast are up to date with the states...

No they are not, there are a whole lot of US aired season 2 eppisodes yet to air in the UK. (E4 or C4) For reasons already stated, it's a good idea to spoiler tag anything from the TV show anyway.

Please, please, don't mess around with things that are obviously not in-game.

"Social Engineering" someone at monster.com's customer support is very unethical, and totaly out of game.

Ok, for you people new to ARGs, or perhaps just kinda dense, PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO BRUTE FORCE OR SOCIAL ENGINEER YOURSELF INTO OUT OF GAME ACCOUNTS. You don't f**king belong there, get over it. The PMs will make something in game when they feel like it, so don't go out of yours and everyone else's way to try and create your own in game content. You do not belong in the monster account. at all. don't try.

What many of you do not realize, and you may be new to ARGs, is that you have to WAIT. There will NOT be new content to be found 24/7. There will (most likely) be one or two days a week in which the site is updated with info, puzzles, new press releases, etc. Until those days, you have to wait. I know it's going to kill you, and probably lose some people in the process, but this same junk happened with ILB. I'm very sorry to say, but just chill out with trying to Brute Force your way into things that you don't belong in.

Thanks,
Your Neighborhood Crispy

I am sorry, I thought this is what we are supposed to do. I am not trying to break the game by any means, my mistake. My first ARG i am totally active in. My bad, I apologize.

I am sorry, again. I assumed that the puppetmasters wanted us to see his monster resume - and because his e-mail and phone are both those things we know, I thought that we were supposed to figure it out on our own and get in using these. The lack of ethics hit me, but to some extent I figured they might be " In on it."

Exec bios

Probably useless, but why is Thomas Mittelwer the only person on the exec bios to have a signature? It looks pasted on........

Any ideas?

Some ARGs can plant clues in our real world. We've see fake job openings posted on craigslist.org and asteroids for sale on eBay. However, any real clue planted in the "outside" world will have a more definite, confirmable, undeniable sign that it is a link and not a coincidence. For example, any info posted on Monster could be a legitimate company -- there really is a Hanso corporation -- but only if you found "The Hanso Foundation" would it be an ingame link. There wouldn't be subtle hints, but details that you *already* recognize. Don't expect NEW info on a real world site, but rather things which lead you BACK to the ingame sites to find new details hidden there.

I hope that helps. I won't berate or belittle anyone for being creative and/or gullible in their approach, so I hope we can all be gentle in granting people a reality check when they need it.

Thank you.

(added later)
p.s. -- I haven't seen these items in their entirety yet. There may be a level of detail there that makes a better connection than I first thought. But I think of an ARG as a role-playing game in which you ARE you, that's your role. My real life position does not allow me to access a resume/CV on monster.com -- and The Lost Experience has not handed me the tools to do so. I think we're all still in the early stages of seeing just how much outside cooperation this game will require of us, as a team.

well the links would be the following:

A monster.com ad during the hanso phonecall
the fact that hugh.mcintyreSPLATthehansofoundation.org is a registered e-mail at monster.com
and the position that the monster.com resume is listed as "previously held" is the same (word for word) as that of Hugh mcintyre.

maybe its just a piece of ingame info we'll discover later...like mcintyre didnt agree with hanso's practices and was fired...so to tell the people playing the args this they post a ad for his job....simple.

Adrenjarvi,

It sounds to me that you're trying to justify a curtain violation, this is not going to score you brownie points around here.

Fact is, monster.com is a real company in the real world. Trying to pose as somebody else is FRAUD, which is a REAL crime. The first rule of ARGs is never to break the law in the real world. Hacking into someone's account on an in-game site is fine, hacking into an account on say, eBay or Amazon.com or Monster.com is NOT.

I suggest you re-examine your practices before you get yourself in REAL trouble.
