Update today!
Go to Executive Bios and click on the date under Alvar Hanso's picture. Persephone shows us where he was last seen and does a bit more speaking.

On Organs and Such

I know the common thought is that "organs" in "missing organs" refers to a group of tissues within a biological structure, like a heart or liver, but the word "organ" means plenty of things, not the least of which is an agency, institution, council, or parliament of a given organization, such as the European Union, United Nations, or African Union. Something to think about. After all, we're dealing with an organization, are we not?

I don't think "Missing Organs" is the clue, but rather a clue to the clue. I have been trying to find a "Sans Serif" (without feet missing organs ) font that contains all of the characters from the clue.

I agree with you: I think there might be more to "Missing Organs" as well. I tried the anagram route here but nothing seemed entirely relevant (although, going with the font idea, the word "sans" can be found, but the remaining letters don't spell a font name that I can see).

I keep thinking that maybe it's a less "coded" and more "hidden message" clue - like a cryptic crossword puzzle clue? Like "disappeared pianos" (which means nothing but won't get out of my head every time I see the phrase!) or something that actually, you know, relate to the plot...

I've been able to reproduce about 80% of the "Missing Organs" message.

The key to this is the keyboard viewer on this is on a Mac (go to system preferences, international, input menu tab, click show input menu in menu bar, click on menu viewer. click on the flag)

Most of the characters can be reproduced with the combination of the option key and a second key.

Unfortuantely I can't make any more sense out of it. Maybe someone else can.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Someone's making changes to thehansofoundation.org...

Old file:
520554 2006-05-03 11:02 Joop_2.swf
New file:
520557 2006-05-08 11:13 Joop_2.swf

Unfortunately I didn't keep hold of a copy of the old Joop_2.swf so I can't compare the two.. Only 3 bytes bigger so probably not much of a change...

edit: btw, this is the file you get to by trying to send a message to Joop.

The swf of Joop, when you enter a subsequent message to Persephone, appears to have changed. I recall him turning his head; then one aggressive, very fangy, mouth wide open shot. This new one is a little less scary. Could that be it?

I just double checked and that info is correct. I figure, though, that someone has probably already done that digging.

After a quick search it appears the whois results as of May 2nd were:

I can't verify it (neither arin or internic is returning my query) but I did just send an e-mail off to infoSPLATthehansofoundation.org asking if Media Temple previously hosted their website, and if they moved their webserver in house. I didn't recieve an immediate bounce back...so we'll see if they respond.

They still have the same nameservers. They just went in and changed all the "info."

Well, looking at the WHOIS, the following entries seem a little strange to me:

Registrant ID:tugBiTw52IqwI8eH
Admin ID:tuiXyOrjjsEYAfQ4
Tech ID:tuUlr54To2l6ECIU

They seem to be some kind of cipher, but I'll be damned if I can place it. I'll play around with it today, work permitting

Saw the potential answer to this while browsing http://thelostexperienceclues.blogspot.com/... check the update on the post called " Clue #23 - Appropriately, A Fantastic Clue". Apparently the update was just to remove the name "Rachel" from the source code.
A great find but they don't seem to be interpretting it well. They are looking for
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Rachel
on the show, which we know isn't the key to any of these locks. But
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Rachel IS on the Hanso phone messages, I believe she's giving Peter Thompson quite a hard time, AND he calls her by name, he calls her quite familiarly by name so this isn't some nut off the street that made their way to the executive offices. Peter is involved with the letters in the Joop Loop - I'm starting to think it is him and not Hugh who is involved with our favorite hacker

I suspect it will be very relevant indeed, the fact that it is there running automatically every time we log in, so we're inclined to tune it out and overlook it. Something's buried in there, I'll bet my list of anagrams for Alvar Hanso

I'll see your list of anagrams of Alvar Hanso and raise you a grouping of hilarious anacronyms found randomly on the site.

I HAVE TOO MUCH FREE TIME.

There, I admit it.

Not sure if this is on another thread but all of the pictures from the Executive Bios are from Getty Images except Alvar Hanso and Thomas Mittlewerk. Which means that Mittlewerk must be the important one here...

The RSS feed has been updated with a fourth entry:

Alvar Hanso profile updated
Alvar Hanso first made his mark during the Second World War, providing munitions to various resistance movements around Europe. After the War, Hanso became the leading purveyor of high-technology armaments for NATO.

The link in "Alvar Hanso profile update" takes you here:

http://www.thehansofoundation.org/#section=bios

It also looks like going to #section=bios bypasses the Hanso intro screen (with the girl talking) and takes you right to the Executive Bios screen - maybe this is another clue?
