I think they're OOG...on minnesotametallurgy.com in the code it says

<meta name="keywords" content="minnesota metallurgy, lost experience clues, widmore labs construction group, hansofoundation hanso">

which wouldn't be very TINAG now would it?

Possible code on the bottom of the gallery

Hey there everyone. It seems like ages since I've been involved with any type of ARG, but since I'm a huge LOST fan I just couldn't pass this one up.

Anyway, I was looking at the Minnesota Metallurgy website and I noticed that below the picture in the Gallery link there seem to be several dots and dashes similar to Morse Code. Here's what's on the bottom:

_.... ...._..._.... ...._..._..._.... ........ ...._.... ...._..._.... ...._..._..._....

Get crackin'!

I'm not sure about the Minnesota Metallurgy site. Did anybody look at the gallery? There are a bunch of pictures of what look like construction sites and some random stock photos. A few telltale pictures of polar bears...

Also, the photos load from thewidmoregroup.com (says my browser's status bar), so I suppose they're linked.

Dunno if I can make a judgement on whether they're in-game.

This is getting Spoilerific. I agree that I don't think we need them, but just in case...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
And the redirect from the currently under service Widmore site diverts to an intermediary site - http://hansogroup.com - before returning to the MM site.

edit: And cinemaniac, I don't think that is morse - it's just too symmetrical. There might be something to it, but I think it is just a continuation of the graphic at the top of the page which is being used as a 'return to top of page' button.

The minnesotametallurgy site was found by members of LOST-TV a while ago. The person who made the website came clean. It's just a fansite.

I'm not sure about the Minnesota Metallurgy website. Has it been confirmed if it's IG or OOG? Some of the messages seem wierd.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Some of them mention "breaking strain" which is the pw you put in at the Hanso website when Peresphone asks for one.

Henry was a good friend, and a worthy adversary in the mining business. It's a shame he is now lost, but it had to be done... He was told to re-check the breaking strain resistance values of the shell.
Our sincere condolences, and Jen, keep in touch!

Ok, not 1, not 2, but 3 videos... (Like ILoveBees, except video instead of Audio). I already mentioned clip3 of 9 my first find... here for your veiwing pleasure... are clips 1 of 9 and 2 of 9....

Clip1 Found on Barnes and Nobel page, scroll down until you see the bad twin picture, there is a link beside it that says "See an exclusive video clip"

Clip2 This clip was found in a link in a Border's Reward e-mail

Clip3 My first find from Amazon.com

Huh, maybe we need to search all the bookselling websites for the missing 6 clips....

Give me my props, my peeps... Wink

Mad props to you!

I'm offline now, can't do the mod thang, but I'll be splitting THIS portion into a new thread. I think we've had plenty of talk about the Gary Troup book and how it ties in, and clip#3 really makes that obvious.

Note the program number 1523 too.

oh, and p.s.
the Valenzetti websites are fake. Amazon and Barnes&Noble are real.

(back online later, decided not to split the thread, just keep following the book clips)

hi, first post and all that :]

just a small note on Gary Troup's interview which is mildly interesting, if not particularly useful; on the Hanso Foundation's Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development map, the 'missing organs' clue appears around the Florida Keys. In his interview, Troup describes the inspiration for 'Bad Twin' in these terms;

Quote:

I was game fishing off the Florida Keys and I got to talking to the boat captain and he started telling me about this other business he had, which was ferrying people and things in and out of Cuba, illegally of course. I thought he'd make a great character, and that was the spark that got the book going.

'people and things'...maybe people's things? Surprised

sorry if this has been discussed before, i'm working my way through your lost threads at the moment.

*
also, regarding the 'valenzetti trail', i spent far too long today trawling the various links that branched out of it, and the 'Our Famous Ancestor' link led me on to a host of various sites about a character from Alias, Milo Rambaldi who is loosely based, it would seem, on Da Vinci - or, at least, darren brown's vision of da vinci. These sites included The Followers of Rambaldi's homepage, pages about the books of 'SK Nave', The Accuracy Institute, apparently a conspiracy theorist's site, and this rather strange blog, which i can't really get my head around - although its parting message reads

As a measure of my good will, I leave you with a small gift, courtesy of Wyeth's formidable computer skills. There is a place where you can enter this login: sferguson and this password: 4879681. Perhaps the information within will be of interest to you.

i haven't found anywhere in the Lost Experience that accepts that login & password, though.

just wondering if these sites were part of an Alias ARG that i wasn't aware of?

cheers!

The Follower's of Rambaldi website and the merritparker blog were both part of the Alias ARG.

I'm still catching up to all the threads, but I haven't yet seen this posted:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Gary Troup is an anagram of Purgatory, one of the popular theories of what the Lost island actually is.

Popular, but flat-out denied by series creator J.J. Abrams over a year ago. The anagram could still be intentional, but I wouldn't read much significance into it.

The ARG was also denied in the same podcast that the creators "announced" it... TINAG. The denial obviously makes it highly unlikely but even that won't make me discount it completely. If nothing else I find it interesting.
