The excerpt page with the audio file over on the garytroup.net..

is that new, or did I just miss it when I was looking there before?

BTW, Theres speculation that Bad Twin was really written by Stephen King on Lostpedia, however, if you download the audio extract from soundsgood.com it is © James Patterson.

Anyone notice how much of a similarity the Valinzetti equation's description seems to have to the mathematical broadcasting project in current development by the Hanso Foundation? Seems to me that might have something to do with his implied experiences with the Hanso Foundation.[/google]

sign up for a free or paid voip service, free one like VOIP User (have to wait 3 days to make land line calls, or SipGate (cheap).

cheers

For your listening pleasure, I have transcribed all three known video clips below. Each one begins with a countdown 'slate':
Quote:
Show #: 1523
Guest: Gary Troup
Date: 16 Sept. 2004
Length: :nn
Clip: n of 9

LG: = Laird Granger, the host doing the interview
GT: = Gary Troup

Here is clip one:
Quote:
------------------
Length: :48
Clip: 1 of 9
------------------
LG: Hello, I'm Laird Granger, and welcome to Book Talk. Today, we're talking to Gary Troup, novelist and non-fiction author, whose works include "The Valenzetti Equation" and his newest mystery novel "Bad Twin". Welcome, Gary, nice to have you here.
GT: Thanks, glad to be here, Laird.
LG: "Bad Twin" -- what inspired the novel?
GT: I was game fishing off the Florida Keys, and I got to talking to the boat captain. He started telling me about this other business that he had, which was ferrying people and things in and out of Cuba -- illegally, of course.
LG: Interesting.
GT: Oh yeah, I thought he'd make a great character. And that was the spark that got the book going.
LG: But the books not really about him.
GT: No, no, the boat captain is just---

Here is clip two:
Quote:
------------------
Length: :41
Clip: 2 of 9
------------------
GT: The boat captain is just a point of departure. Here's this guy. One day he's taking families fishing, and the next day he's making smuggling runs. And it was that duality that intrigued me, how we all have good and bad inside of us.
LG: Is that what the title "Bad Twin" refers to?
GT: Uh, yeah, the book is a story about a private investigator named Paul Artizen who's hired by this rich man to track down his missing twin, the supposed "bad twin" from the title.
LG: But without giving anything away here, who is bad and who is good, that's all part of the mystery, isn't it?
GT (smiling): Yes, very much so.
LG: Your book mentions---

Here is clip three:
Quote:
------------------
Length: :41
Clip: 3 of 9
------------------
LG: Your book mentions a lot of real life people, places and institutions.
GT: Yeah, I try to incorporate real life stuff into my fiction. Just gives it a lot more... veracity.
LG: Like Alvar Hanso, and The Hanso Foundation?
GT (with a look of regret and exasperation): Right.
LG: Did including them have anything to do with your non-fiction writing?
GT: Absolutely. I wrote a non-fiction book called The Valenzetti Equation.
LG: About the reclusive Princeton mathematician Enzo Valenzetti and his famous theorum.
GT: Yes.
LG: At least that's what they say it's about. I have to confess, I can't find a copy.
GT: Yeah, I know. I mean, first of all, it was a small printing. And allegedly now---

Keep looking for more video clips!

Seems like other clips may be released at future dates... or possibly we should look at other sources? News/review sites?
