[INFO] May 17th Walkthrough(McIntyre and lycgy.com)

I haven't spoilered anything in this post, so if you want to figure out passwords for yourself stop reading now. (there is no spoilers relating to the show) If you would like to re-post this information on another site, please include a link back to it here.

This post is to tell you how to access the new content available with the may 17 th update. The content itself is for you to explore. Any comments on the content can be made here for the hanso foundation and here for the letyourcompassguideyou.com site

The Hanso foundation site was updated with some new information on the ERI page (Active Project->Electromagnetic Research Initiative). Notice the caption below the picture "Early morning hours of October 62, 9291". Obivouly that's not a real date, it's a clue. If you move your mouse to "x: 629" "y: 291" using coordinates on the picture as a guide, you will find a hot spot. (Alternately use the tab key to get to the hot spot) The link leads to letyourcompassguideyou.com (lycgy.com from now on)

On lycgy.com move your cursor around the outside of the compass when you get to 108 degrees (north is 0, go clockwise) you'll see a map come up and your cursor is on a hotspot. Press the hotspot and after some fancy flash foshizzle you'll be asked "Are you one of the good ones" type 'y'. This will forward you to lycgy.com/usr.

There is lots of stuff to go through in that directory but the only bits that concern this walkthrough is the parts that let us get the password for the McIntyre login box on thf.org. There are a few ways this information can be gotten:

The McIntyre update
There has been a fair bit of confusion about how exactly you get to this. I'm pretty sure I've sorted it all out.
  • First you need to be viewing www.thehansofoundation.org , not any sub domain and not without the www. [1]
  • Second you need to have done the newletter part (enter your name, then say 'yes' then enter 'breaking strain' as the password)
  • Third you need to be seeing the new exec bios, this is the one without a picture of Hugh McIntyre.
  • Fourth enter the password ("the mouth piece")and it should work.(it seems to be tolerant to some variations in the password, caps and spaces etc)

I think that covers it all, if i've missed anything or got something wrong, please reply here.

[1] The reason for this is that the password checking function is hard coded to www. thf.org Flash is not allowed to access content that isn't on it's own domain, thf.org and www.thf.org are considered different domains. more information here

the only time i ever got things is to work is when i directly clicked on the link that says hanso in the list of links after looking at one of the files that had the mouth piece on it. If you dont look at one of those clues first and than go back to the directory and click on hanso the password will not work. It must be a cookie thing.

Alot of people have said that. I couldn't see any evidence for it. I cleared my cache and my cookies and I could still access the update without going to the compass site. Still, it's worth a try if nothing else is working
