It seems to have been a phonetic search, which knocks loads out straight away.

EDIT: I'm also not sure we are going to find a path out of the city, I think the key is going to be just one of the messages.

I don't know if this is right, but what if we see every clip with "Miranda" on it and cross it with the marathon's path.... I would do it but I don't know the route.

looking for a map of the route, but until i do here's a clip from the sentinel detailing it:

"The race starts at 10am on May 6 at the northwest corner of Polygon Park and loops north through the commercial district before doubling back and completing a circuit of the park at the finish. Trowell says that there will be water stops at every mile along the way, with finishers receiving a grab bag of free merchandise from companies as diverse as Whipsmart and Earthworks."

no luck with a route map, but looking at the description and comparing that to the global search, i'm not so sure that it's a viable approach. there are only three sound bytes that could fit in with that (8/5 10:00, 7/5 17:18, 8/5 10:32). as far as my ears can tell, only the 17:18 one actually mentions miranda's name, although the 10:00 one was mentioned earlier as possibly being significant ("there's no point in giving me random data").

perhaps instead of filtering out the background sounds, we should be filtering out the speech and see what's going on around them. it might be a little farfetched but if there's a clue here, i don't think it's going to be the obvious.

*edit*

has anyone tried asking kurt to do the same search but looking for "helen gale"?

I'm pretty sure that we all agreed that "Helen Gale" was a fake. I doubt that Miranda, (If that is her real name! Razz ) would use it twice in a row.

I think this one is more like

"I, uh, need to go back to the van and pick up my hammer and tool box"
then a faint male voice says
"want me to help you?"

Also, in the water next to the red "Perplex City" dot there seems to be a line of text? I've tried enlarging it to make it readable but im at work and it's not happening... any chance someone could take a look at it?

I agree with Asa on this one. For what it's worth, I also heard this
