Does anyone think it's out of line to request when a new account is set up for them to "ping" your phone and see if it works. I'd gladly pay a couple of bucks for a call to make sure. (Violet if you're listening I'll even let you call collect.) I understand this is a huge endeavor for them now but maybe for future players? This would also reinforce the initial rabbithole and be very cool! hint hint wink wink

Actually, that's a good idea. I don't think it's too hard to have them send something like "Perplex City connection established." Plus, I did miss the first round of stuff so I don't know if either I didn't put it in right or if they don't bother.

If everyone who's not getting them sends them an email, then maybe they'll start the idea.

It seems us Canadians are also out of the loop on this one. I'm on Rogers Wireless and not receiving the texts, my girlfriend has an Aliant cellphone and is also not receiving the text messages.

I have Cingular, and I received the first of Kurt's "Miranda's shady" text messages, but nothing else. Interestingly, this was when I still had my phone number as XXX-XXX-XXXX instead of +1XXXXXXXXXX. I've changed it to what they request just to be sure, but nothing's come in since that one from Kurt.

Number Format: XXX-XXX-XXXX (that was before they added the instructions for the "+1" stuff and it worked, so I saw no reason to change it.)

I got Kurt's message at 8:36am, Pacific time. If any one else did successfully receive today's SMS, please post the above information. If you did not, give it a few hours before saying anything. I imagine this is probably like bulk email messages from PXC and that they reach some people quite fast and take a long time to reach others.

So if I'm reading this right, people have been having success by adding the dashes between the area code and the transfer set (the first three number) and the transfer set and the connection numbers (the other four digits).

I'm going to try and change my number in my account and see if that helps. I haven't received so much as "Miranda's psycho" from Kurt, squat, bupkis, zip, zilch, etc.
