[SPEC] Importance of the date - October 28th

This date obviously has some significance and I did not really know where to put this otherwise. I will hide references from the show. So, thought I'd make a brief list of appearances of this mysterious date and events that match it.

Lost History:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1984 - the map in the hatch on the upper right is written "suspected shutdown date 10/28/84"
hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere else in relation ot 10/28

2003 - date listed on Alvar Hanso's bio for The Photo of him.

2001 - photo of Coronal Mass Ejection on the Electromagnetic Research Initiative page

Real world history:

1943 - Alleged Philladelphia Experiment - tentative connection here.

1970 - "blue flame" rocket powered car sets the world Land Speed Record at bonneville salt flat. Just interesting that it mentioned Land Speed Record.

in connection to that last one, the record was broken in 1997 by the "ThrustSSC" in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, also in October.

EDIT - added [SPEC] tag and clarified topic - SG

Just FYI, the massive elecromagnetism blast is a real event, it was on NASA's site. Smile

Oct 28th 2004 was a total lunar eclipse centred on that spot near the bermuda triangle

Other things that occurred on October 28th:

1960: My mother's birth. Could she be related to Alvar Hanso somehow?

1965: The Gateway Arch in St. Louis was completed. Get it? The Gateway Arch. Is the island a gateway to something?

1962: Cuban missile crisis ends. No joke here, just thought I'd mention it.

Maybe Alvar Hanson is her father, and you are his grandson. I declare your DNA officially in-game, and I think we should try to hack it.

Actually, if we're taking anything the wiki entry on the Valenzetti Equation says as being correct, it might very well be:

According to Troup - whose research is primarily based on interviews with "UN members" willing to break their non-disclosure agreements, and recently declassified Soviet files - the equation was the end result of a study commissioned by the United Nations following the Cuban Missile Crisis.

This could totally be trout, by the way. Except for the part about Manchot's DNA. I'm sure that is 100% all me.
