You have already asked your question of the oracle.
Each person is given only the one answer.
Tell all your friends!

Good thing I only have 724 email addresses to choose from Wink

On a related note, I'm using this passage:
Quote:
I used to be a little pagan pretender, buying "spellbooks" from Barnes & Nobles, burning little pine needles out among the trees behind my parents' house as part of my "rituals", and running my mouth off about "the goddess" all the time.

to strt searching this: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?WRD=rituals+the+goddess+spellbooks&userid=2U9X9G4HYR

Anyway, bedtime.

Nice going, gang! Finally we're getting somewhere again. I googled Pythia, votress, etc. but never found this. Did you google it out somehow or were you speculating possible URLs?

The bird pic is that of a dodo (as in "Dodona"), and is from right here:
http://www.greenapple.com/~jorp/amzanim/dodo.htm

Too late to do much more with this now. Gotta think about what to ask the Oracle. If you have asked a good question, perhaps you should post it so that we don't all ask her the same thing!

And what are people going to type in for their offering?

I think we were confident that we had the right site and then that was confirmed by the latest SpockVulture email. So after trying countless things/names I went back to the beginning....

Quote:
It is right that my new temple should be built on a site where hearts are poured out.
The thoughtful little bird would love it -- writings about walking around! While I myself
appreciate it as a honeypot for illiterate porn-seekers.

'Set your heart at rest:
The fairy land buys not the child of me.
His mother was a votress of my order'

I thought to look if the "child" had a name....and the page I googled had votress spelled differently (votaress) and that stood out (votress/priestess) so I tried it.

It's not the Temple...but it's a start. Smile

To which the reply (just received from Votress Augustus) was:

Quote:
That is not a valid offering.

Did you know you nothing but an orderly in the next Tangent Universe over? Ah, twists of fate.

Sigh. Confused

First SpaceBass gets unbounded gratitude and flower scented dreams, now I get to be an orderly in the next Tangent Universe. There's just no justice, I tell ya!

My question: What are tomorrow's lottery numbers? (submitted last night)
My offering: Most girls couldn't pull off that look, but for you it works.

At last a valid offering! So refreshing. Invigorating.

For the record, I think Spacely's response is a code for something, although admittedly, I know not what it is.

Edit: ScarpeGrosse just pointed out that this cannot be code, as the numbers are real, midday picks: http://www.michigan.gov/lottery Although Spacely pointed out that the states used might be the code. Whatever, I'm not the puzzle solver anyway Very Happy

My question to the Oracle (last night) was: Who are you? (Yes, original, I know) and my offering was: "Knowing you has enriched my mundane existence (or something along those lines)

My response:
Quote:
I am the Queen of Hearts.
I am the Queen of Blood.
I am the Queen of Fairies.
I am the Queen.

I am looking for a little bird so I can kill him for what he did to my servant. I am not the only one who seeks him, it seems. My wayward spouse sends an underling to bring him back. One of his watery tarts search for him as well for reasons known only to her, aided by my own son. I tell you this in answer to your question.

Play nicely!

Oh man, this is so unfair.

No way Space's offering was worth more than $1.42!!

I hate it when oracles, or pythias, or vortresses, or whatever, play favorites.

Ahem.

Not to confuse the issue, but it seems my moniker has been purloined.

Two words for you who would dabble in my realm:

Gan.

Med.
