Thought it was time to add a second thread to the EDOC forum line Razz The original thread is bogged down a bit, and I thought it would be nice to spec a bit with everyone Smile

How the Game Works:
Passphrases are encoded on clothing and accessories. The phrases are decoded using the "key" on the inner hem of an item (the key phrase is always "NOTHING TO HIDE"). The passphrase is then entered into the EDOC Laundry site (follow "NOTHING TO HIDE" on the main page or go to edoclaundry.com/nothingtohide.asp) and a short video clip is opened.

What the Game Is About:
Lyn Saunder is a sound engineer who helps form the band Poor Richard, starting Adam, Jeff, Madison Rose, Abigail and Sam. They have two guys in charge of them, Arnold and George. The band signs on with a label by the name of Hanover Media, and eventually gets into a legal dispute over song rights. Eventually, someone gets murdered and the game is afoot to figure out what happened and whodunnit. The story is told through the video clips unlocked from the laundry items, and the clips are blurbs put together by Lyn after the murder and dissolution of the band has already occurred.

Why Do These Names Sound Familiar?:
Let me throw out some names that might sound MORE familiar to you:
    Benjamin Franklin
    George Washington
    Benedict Arnold
    James Madison
    Thomas Jefferson
    John and Abigail Adams
    Sam Adams

That's right, kiddies, we're replaying the American Revolution Rock N Roll style. The Poor Richard Band is Lyn's creation, similar to how Benjamin Franklin wrote Poor Richard's Almanack (under the guise of Richard Saunders. Oh ho.). The band members are based off of the figureheads of the Revolutionary generation, who fought against the British (King George III was of the House of Hanover. Tee hee.), similarly to how the band is rebelling against their label. Jeff wrote the lyrics to the album [i]Declaration[i] - Thomas Jefferson penned the Declaration of Independence; Sam has a bit of a substance abuse problem; Arnold isn't all that trustworthy; George is considered the band's dad; Adam and Abigail are boinking; Madison is under the wings of Jeff; and Jeff even has a relationship with some girl named Sally, who also happens to be knocked up by our dear Jeffy.

So, Like, What's There To Do?
Solve codes on t-shirts. A majority of the solves we have so far came from the edoclaundry website graphics (like we're fashion forward enough to buy hipster clothes. phhbt.). From the looks of it and from what I've read in articles, the game will run for approximately 2 years, with each "season" of clothing adding more bits to the story. (2 years? isn't that... 2008... an election year? Hmmm....)
Figure out why Poor Richard the band falls apart and if there's a way we can prevent them from fizzling out entirely.
Determine who killed The Man with the Ashy Hand (TMAH!) with the electrical cord in the studio.
Catch up on your video watching! (they are really fabulous videos - all gritty and funky with some bizarrely catchy soundtracks)
SPEC SPEC SPEC (seriously, my brain can't take in much more American History. It's all full up Sad This Benjamin Franklin biography is HUGE.)

The new video from Rock Angel "Trade Horses" has George with a note addressed to "Beth and Greg."

I can't for the life of me figure out who Beth and Greg are :/ Any thoughts?

In the LOVE AND JUSTICE video, Arnold asks George what he's holding, and George says, "another band I let fall apart." Perhaps Beth and Greg are this other band. (Even though TRADE HORSES takes place four months before LOVE AND JUSTICE.)

I'm never right about this kind of thing, but where I went with it was that before he heard the music Lyn shared with him, he was going to kill himself and that was his lame suicide note to his wife and son.

 		Yes, it certainly sounded like a suicide note. PRB.com says that there was suicide as well as a murder during the band's troubles, I'm wondering if it was George because he may have that in his personality.
