[LOST] USA thread

(Yes I have an account but I haven't gotten an activation e-mail, I've e-mailed the admins and I'm waiting for a follow-up..)

I thought I'd set this thread up for US players for The LOST Experience. As I said in the other thread, with the ARG taking place starting at different times on different continents, then players in different countries are going to be running on different timetables..

This thread is to keep the US players from being spoiled by stuff in the UK thread since they're starting before it launches on this side of the pond.

Hopefully we can get our own forum soon to reduce the clutter on this board..

edit: Fine - moved to Potential. But starting new threads in N&R just because you think it's best does make the mods (ok, me) grumpy. - Rowan

That's cool..

Even though I'm Canadian, I watch Lost the same time you guys do (We gets it from ABC) So I'll tag in here, it looks cool, but I want to make sure it's not US-exclusive before I decide to play

The problem if your Canadian is that, unless you have a satellite, cable will input its own commercials into the programs (even on ABC). So, if you watch
'Lost' on ABC, you will really be getting the CTV commercials. Therefore, if there is any clues in commercials, we may not get them. This is usually a good thing (who wants commercials about Montana anyways?), but it really could be a setback in this situation.

Hopefully for you guys ABC will send the word along to leave this commercial in. If not, I'm sure it'll be available online somewhere, eh? Wink

Alright-- since I'm in the USA, I suppose I'd better start following this thread!

I've been looking at the UK thread, though, so I'm keeping my mouth shut until tomorrow. Who knows, we might get different stuff from them anyways?

Another Canadian here. You guys are right about the commercial thing. We almost never get the same commercials here. *Glares at the lack of good superbowl commercials*

Although, the fact that Lost comes on a good 2 hours before it does in the United States more then makes up for that. Very Happy
I look forward to working with you all.

Ooh, another silly question, are we going to get our own shiny-new IRC chatroom for The Lost Experience? Pretty please?

Also, http://www.thelostexperience.com has gone up, but for now there's just some test text of the Lorem Ipsum variety and a navigation bar that doesn't have anything clickable. Hopefully it'll be fully-functional soon. It does, though, look to be a fan-run site.

I know too much

I couldn't resist reading the spoilers over at the Hanso Foundation thread. I have no idea how they got from point A to point B. I guess there's a reason they're called spoilers, eh? Sad

Hello, folks! Today's the big day! I'm psyched!!

In my e-mail today, I got a notice from Hyperion Books saying that Gary Troup's book "Bad Twin" is on bookshelves today, Gary Troup being one of the passengers aboard Oceanic flight 815. Was the release date a coincidence? I seriously doubt it! Very Happy I think they've got it on Amazon. Anybody willing to read it for us? I'm at school and my funds are nil, otherwise I'd be glad to...

EDIT: it also sent a photo of the poster for the book. There's a URL at the bottom but I can't make it out. Somebody with better eyes wanna take a look? http://elmimages-att.go.com/elmimages/DOL/HyperionBooks/bt2.jpg

Keywords in the source of the home page include the cast list from the TV show. Also left in a bunch of other stuff, like the website designer is Touchustudio, and they did another book page, unhookedgeneration.com. Touchustudio has done other webpages for ABC shows, like Kingdom Hospital.

Remember the first rule of ARG: check the source code
Remember my first lesson from ARG: look at the registration information

Ahh, thanks. I couldn't tell if it was the same one I'd seen before or something else. There doesn't look to be anything new on the page, though, other than that the book is actually out and available for purchase now.
