[UPDATE]Terrini Blog Update 5/17 New update to Sue's blog.
Quote:
That was actually a little fun.
The trip is about two hours long, and entire time I was thinking "If John's there this time, I'll grab him for sure. If he's there this time..." Two hours of that bouncing around in my skull. Two hours of wondering what secrets that rat is trying to find. I didn't have time to think about it in the store, since Larry was really putting me to work today, but once I got onto the road, whew.
I almost didn't have the nerve to go in when I got there. Storms kicked up about half an hour out from Louisville and it was pouring when I got to the sanatorium. I'm not afraid of buildings but the lightning flashing against that empty place made it sinister. I sat there casing the place for a while and I was sure I could see a tall man in a wide-brimmed hat standing at the entrance. He looked too real to be a ghost. Heck, I was half-convinced he was just a statue when I got out of my car and ran to the entrance.
He wasn't a statue. He was big, tall, skinny, and alive. There was a gun in his hand, some sort of revolver. I could see the door open behind him. It looked like he'd already smashed the lock.
"Are you Sue?" He drawled. "I'm Lane. Ghosts yonder. I'll send them to their peace if they attack you. What're you lookin' for here?"
I told him that a ghost had a package for me, but I wasn't sure where it would be. He nodded and walked in, his head pushed forward like he was walking against a strong wind. He was fast, too, I had to walk quickly to keep up. I'm not going to say too much about what I saw in there. I was a little more frightened than I thought I'd be. The empty halls echoed every noise and I heard a lot of strange sounds. Quite a few of them sounded like moans or voices, but that could have been echoes of thunder. We didn't see any ghosts, which seemed to disappoint Lane, but I heard a lot of noises... and a few times I felt that cold razor-blade feeling again. Brr.
Mostly it was just walking through empty sad rooms full of the discards of madmen and their caretakers... And then we were outside. I'll never, never as long as I live, forget what happened next. It felt so good. It felt like justice.
"Sue?" John stood there on the back landing. He sounded surprised, hell he looked surprised to see me, and especially surprised to see Lane! He stood there, a dumbfounded look on his face, and he was holding another cache package! He'd found it!
"You don't look like a ghost in my experience," Lane said.
"He's here to steal that package!" I blurted out, and Lane moved faster than a man that size has any right to. I saw a blur as lightning illuminated him and suddenly the gun was in John's mouth! I couldn't help but laugh as John shook his head violently, trying to convince Lane that he wasn't a thief with those liars eyes of his. Neither of us were convinced. All the while John was trying to say my name, I think. It sounded like "Few! Few few few!"
"Claim jumper. I can't abide claim jumpers." He said and he cracked John upside the head! That made the entire trip worthwhile. I borrowed some rope (the man carries rope with him, how strange) and tied John up.
Then Lane saw the name on the package.
"Charles Lehner?" Lane said sharply. I said, yeah, this is about Charles Lehner.
"No ghosts. Charles Lehner. Kevin, you varmint," He said angrily. "You tricked me..." Then he turned and stomped out of there. I didn't see him when I left either.
And now I'm back. I'm back and I brought John with me. He's tied up right now, glaring at me like I am the one who kidnapped Charles. At first when he woke up in the car, he yelled at me, trying to tell me I'd gone crazy. Like I'm going to listen to that. I gagged him... for now. He'll give me some answers very soon, I promise you that. There're going to be answers, and there's going to be justice, and I'm going to get Charles back. Here, while I'm thinking of what to do, take a look at the documents that were in the info cache.
The torn up paper reads:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
Was this an echo of his broken Jar?
Can a prison be made of anything clay?
There have been many sightings of freed spirits. Percy
Shelley saw one in his dreams and it asked of him "How
long do you mean to be content?" It is the opinion of this
author that it had been hounding him for many years,
destroying his unborn children one by one.
John is no Shelley!
A dream can't crash a car!

Nice find, guys. Didn't catch this until I left a post for Kevin in the WA forums.
TJ, perhaps you could transcribe and then spoiler?

I haven't quite broken the code on the last page, but I want to draw some attention to the last bit:
Quote:
he earth and air elements have long been split and stored safely. The fire element is, of course, the sacrifice.
John Match, anyone?

As for the two pages in the clear, here's some comments on the one about the blue-skinned guy:
"spotted" and "having a broken top, notched" are English translations of Kipoo and Kimawenze, the two peaks of Kilimanjaro.
So the blue man was giving lessons to the child in the valley between the peaks of Kilimanjaro. I'm guessing the blue man was of the water people. Note that the page has the symbol from the broken clay pieces.
The other page draws an analogy between clay spirit traps such as in the Three Kings story, and golems in traditional Jewish writings. Golems are brought to life by inscribing the Hebrew word "emeth" on them. Spirit traps are sealed with the pi-like symbol we've seen in a couple of places.
It mentions that you can break a seal and use the power for your own ends, but that the spirit inside can then take a corresponding action. Did John break the seal and then use the power to further his music career? Did the spirit return the favor by possessing and discrediting John to his agent?

Does anyone have any ideas about the code on the last page. It looks like a book cipher to me.
I have tried it with every text found here but it doesn't work. When i tried it with the Three Kings text it looked promising but didn't work out (i even tried ROT on the results).
The written text under the code doesn't work either.

Wow. Good find! How'd you come across that?

Both very good theories. It would explain his behavior. Still, I'm wondering about this "Old Man". I figure him to possibly be a person of Air?
I'm also thinking that we can place these spirits as the punks who've been playing around with John's site.
Perhaps John should go looking at it...?

Nope. I've been thinking of transcribing it, bold formats included, and see who bites.

Silverkun: I Googled on the phrase "having a broken top, notched" since it sounded distinctly like a dictionary definition, not a phrase that fit into a conversation.
And if you want to transcribe the coded page, you will have my endless gratitude. Or at least fairly long-lived gratitude.

It does indeed seem to be a book cipher.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Try the full text of Ozymandias. I'm working it out still, although there seem to be some gaps.
