Bah, grump. Again. Has anyone else managed, after a careful sifting process, a delicate balancing of skill and strength, and a consideration of who is playing the US ( Laughing ), to select loads of players who don't get a bl**dy game?

R1: Reyes, Ferreira & Messi
R2: Reyes & Johnson
R3: Van Bronckhorst & Pauleta. And counting.

I selected an ivory coast player who despite having played 90 mins in teh past two games decided not to bother getting off the bench this time... Ho hum.. At least I'm near the top again, but not for long I think...

And now my two spaniards don't get fielded.. bugger.. turning out to be a pretty terrible round! At least Ronaldo turned out to be worth at least some of his value this time though.

edit

Hahah - while I was posting that - torres got put in for the last twenty mins. better than nothing - now if he can score 6 goals, I'll be happy.

I wear my Rovers pullovers,
When I go see Leeds,
they seem to achieve alot of high ball speds,
When I go see Nottingham,
there don't half seem alot of them,
When I go see Chelsea,
spend half the match in a queue for a wee wee,

Lucky this is a trout free zone, but has anyone else looked at the first letter of each player in Sente's starting 11? http://fantasyfootball.metro.co.uk/M/eventhist.mc?id=229202

Not a massive puzzle I'll admit, but probably the reason he isn't doing so well. Cute though.

Unfortunately, I have no such excuse.

Yeah, USA blew it, big time.

I'm very happy for Ghana, but then again, it would have been nice not to be out with so much egg on our faces. The Czech republic might be out as well, but their W-D-L record doesn't match that of Trinidad and Tobago. Not that I'm digging at T&T, but you'd expect the US to do better... Crying or Very sad

(Of course, if I wanted to get all defense-mode, Japan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia did the same as us in both WDL and points, but still, we stunk, no question. And instead of getting better, we'll care less and do even worse come 2010.)

But, hey, how about that Portugal/Netherlands match? Was that thing insane or what?! The damn red cards went flying through the whole match, and the Dutch players came so close so many times I was in Empathy Mode with all of Holland. The ref was a joke, seriously.

I can still enjoy the cup with ym home nation out.
Not that you need any, but here's another good British fight song.
From the lead singer of the Darkness, and catchy as all hell.

I think there's an e-mail on this doing the rounds, but in case you've not seen, there's an excellent French site:

http://www.11football.com/coupedumonde2006/index.php

Click on a score and it tells you who scored... then click on the name and it shows you the goal. Not the highest res, but enough to see it OK.

No clips for red & yellows, though. Probably a good thing after last night's game.

Possibly the first time an Italian takes a drive to AVOID a penalty.

You know you've been speccing over PXC too long when things like that immediately prompt you to wonder, "did he fall or was he pushed?"

Seriously folks - I know nada about football and I'm 20 something points on top? - in other news - I'm actually 507th in the overall game - nowhere near the points....

Well - I've got my team for the next round - roll on..

Up to 6th, although i fear it may take all the power of the Portugal/Holland spirit of fair play to bring down the current runaway leader.

I sense Sente may be making some radical changes before the next round as he currently has a playing squad of 4, somehow i feel a lack of vowels may provide an interesting challenge!
