Red Faery Star

Faerie Stars

Faerie Stars are seven-pointed stars sometimes also called "Elven" stars. Faerie stars are symbols of journey, passage, and understanding between the world of humans and the world of faeries, or Faerieland. The seven-pointed star symbolizes the Path, or Gateway, that a human must travel to prepare for entrance into the Land of Faery.

Sometimes these paths are represented by different symbols representing the spirits or forces they invoke or involve. Here is a short list of some common symbols associated with faery stars and meanings and associations often attached to them.

Sun: Power, Personal Will, Determination, Prosperity, Justice, the Gate.
Earth: (also shown as a tree or a stone) Unconditional Love, Wisdom, Growth, Friendship, Healing.
Water: (sometimes may be a wave-like sgn or a teardrop) Knowledge, Intelligence, Creativity, Sexuality, Awakening.
Harmony: (common symbols are hands clasped or people embracing) Union, Tranquility, Blessings, Love.
Hand: Magic, Powers of Mind and Science, Balance, Dexterity.
Wind: (sometimes symbolized by a cloud or flying bird) Devotion, Honesty, justice, Healing.
Path: (sometimes shown as a doorway or portal) Magick, Success, the Gaian Hypothesis.

Many scholars and researchers believe the Faery seven-pointed star was used in ancient times to represent the constellation of the Pleiadean star system, also known as the "Seven Sisters". This astronomical landmark was named after the mythological daughters of Atlas & Pleione. According to Greek mythology, Orion the famous hunter, fell in love with the sisters and courted them vigorously for seven years in a vain attempt to win their affections. Eventually, sympathizing with the plight of the sisters, Zeus intervened and transformed each of the seven sisters into doves to help them escape from Orion's relentless advances. The sisters (now doves) flew into the sky and never returend, to become the stars we now call the "Seven Sisters" today. The word "Pleiades" is Greek for"doves" and this mystical star system has been worshipped and revered throughout history. Some legends and myths even claim that the Pleiades system is actually the center of the Universe, the seat of immortality, and the home of the gods.

I'm wondering if there is a reason for the dots on the red disk. The faerytrail reference doesn't mention dots, just the symbols. Are the dots a puzzle?

Sun - 1
Harmony - 6
Wind (cloud) - 6
Portal - 3
Hand - 3
Water (teardrop) - 2
Earth (tree) - 6

And the solitary figure in the middle (appears running or leaping) looks like there is a spot for a dot in under him, but nothing shiny is visible.
