[SPEC] Alvar Hanso is Marvin Candle?

Okay, call me crazy, but here's something I wanted to toss around:
When I first started playing this game, I was so sure that the man in the Orientation video was Alvar Hanso. I was still thinking that when I started this game, and I just assumed that the pic of Hanso on the website was an altered still from the video photoshopped onto the window. The funny thing is, I still can see it in the picture. And now with this possible picture of Marvin Candle on hole2.thehansofoundation.org, my suspicions are even more aroused. More reasons to be wary from recent season 2 episodes:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In The Question Mark, Candle calls himself a different name. So it seems like both are probably pseudonyms.

Just some random crazy speculation (or my subconsious pointing something out?)

While I'm not sure I subscribe to this theory, I do find it interesting that many of Alvar Hanso's quotes on THF.org seem to make reference to light: "brilliant", "shine", "brightest lights", "light the way", "brighter future".

There are even some less-obvious ones that conjure up images of light or candles: "pass on to future generations" (candles are often used in religious and other rituals to symbolize passing along knowledge), "well-charted" (as in visible or explored).

I realize that a lot of this is typical industry-speak for scientific research, but what better pseudonym would there be for someone for whom these matters are a life pursuit than Marvin Candle?

Spoiler from Season 2 episode "?":

Or Mr. Wickman

Oops, just noticed about those names:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Candle - Wickman

Laughing

I have a hard time with this theory, because Alvar Hanso is Danish, people have seen him before, it's not like he never appeared in public. Candle is obviously not Danish, not even European. Unless he changed his face - which is possible, I guess - Alvar Hanso and Marvin Candle don't seem to be the same person.

But those names sure seem like pseudonyms, hehe.

Not that I really want to give any credit to this theory (since I think it's about as crazy as anyone else does), I would like to point out that, although the Hanso Foundation does seem to be a Danish company, that's no guarantee that Hanso is Danish (trout me if I'm wrong). Further consider that, though Alvar does seem to be a Danish name, Hanso does not (think Hattori Hanso). There does seem to be an eastern slant to the company's philosophy...

(Actually, please don't think about it. I know I'm crazy. But I had to have someone prove me wrong Wink )

As someone said in another thread, I'd be wary of thinking this, because we've not been introduced to Candle in the game, as yet

Good point, but moreover I just really don't think Alvar is Asian. Looking at the picture we have of Alvar and looking at Marvin, there simply not at all alike. I'm just not coming anywhere near towards buying this one. I'm more in agreement with another theory I've read that Alvar might be Henry Gale.
