Sigh. No. I referenced this several posts back when I was trying to get people interested in the spelled-out filename anagram thing. What Speaker says is this: "People have finally found this. But they're not looking at it correctly."

He never says "images". He simply says "it" referring to "this" which is a link to the clue.

In other words, all he's said is we're reading the CLUE incorrectly. He never says anything about the image at all.

That's partly why I still think the FILENAME, not the IMAGE, is the route to solving this one. ;)

I agree :/ It's either in the filename, or the picture is representing something that we are meant to work out.

I am with the popular view that the image file itself is probably not the clue. However, given a two-color bitmap, I couldn't resist converting it into a huge binary text file to see if there was anything to find.

Unsurprisingly, I found nothing, but have attached the file in case anyone else wants to have a play.

This is driving me crazy.

I blame whoever it was, on whatever forum it was, who complained that if this were the real world, Persephone hiding messages simply by coding them in easily-decoded numbers would never work.

Link to that, please? I would want to see the exact wording.

*bangs head on desk*

I've given the exact wording twice in this thread.

"People have finally found this. But they're not looking at it correctly."

stretched image?

I'm wondering if perhaps this picture is an anamorphosis. That's a fancy name for "image you can only see by viewing it from an extreme angle." One of the most famous of these is this painting. There is a wierd, tilted white shape at the bottom, that is clearly a human skull, if you look at the painting up close, and from the bottom-left corner.

Long story short, can someone print this image out, and then look at it from the top and bottom, with the paper tilted almost parallel to your eyes? I would if I had a printer.

I do think it looks like the Hanso / Dharma logos, but my opinion is that it's definitely an elephant, not a yin-yang.

Edit: stray tag.

I sure this is nothing, but just in case I'll mention it. Looking around the outskirts of this picture are verical lines. Can these lines possibly be read like "bar code" like when they scan items at a store?

You get those lines whenever you do a polar coordinate on an image, doesn't matter if its a picture of a faceless man or mickey mouse.

This was pretty much covered a couple of pages back :/
