i really really think were overlooking something simple here. and to me, with the image mirrored and aligned it looks like an x ray picture. the collarbone seems to be missing though so maybe ive just been looking at it for too long.

Here's what I've been thinking. A hole is a way in. We are acsessing files and information to find out about the Hanso Foundation's double layered two facedness.

I think this picture is a way into more infomation, not an end in it's self. So, the question is, how do you get "in" to this file?

Sounds like what the server software/OS is running for the webhost. Probably Apache/2.0.54 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.0.5-2ubuntu1.2 mod_ssl/2.0.54 or os

Some of the ideas being suggested are great ideas, but most are way to complicated for this game - or at least for this point in the game. Every puzzle up to now has been relatively low on the computer knowledge and technical know-how requirements. I find it hard to believe that they will suddenly drop a puzzle in there that requires a crazy amount of messing around with the ascii or binary contents of a GIF file. It just wouldn't be logical to make such a huge leap in complexity.

I'm still not convinced that we're missing something, but we might be. Perhaps there's another clue yet to come that will reveal more information.

Perhaps when Hugh McIntyre appears on Kimmel tonight, we'll see that the hole2 image is simply the actor playing Hugh.

flip it and reverse it

i mirrored the image on itself horizontally, flipped that vertically, then inverted the colors. i see a face yelling at a figure standing in front of a grave. maybe im just going crazy.

Just to throw my two cents in ... it looks to me like the photo is split down the middle into two different faces.

Heir Apparent

OK, shoot me if someone has already said this, but...
I was visiting the hanso foundation website and I left for a little while. Mind you, my speakers are always turned up. All of a sudden, I hear a loud noise from my computer. I run back, and just for the hell of it, maximize the hanso foundation browser window. The usual military time clock at the top of the page had transformed into the word, "OBEY." I'm ptetty sure you can guess what that means. So, I put my mouse over it, and it was clickable. It led me to a site called www.sublymonal.com. Here, there was the picture John put in the pneumatic tube. (well, not the exact picture, but it seemed to be the image that inspired the drawing) I waved my mouse over everything on screen. I was able to click one of the little screens. Nothing happened... I clicked it again and again and again. then suddenly, the screen lit up, then all the screens shifted counter clockwise. then the next screen was clickable. same deal. after some number of clicks, everything shifted. I'm not sure how many clicks each screen took, but it might have been the lotto numbers. when I had successfully lit up all of the screens, they spun around and shrank, then I was led to another page. There was a computer monitor, displaying the message, "code: Heir Apparent" Heir apparent is basically the person who is meant to inherit a throne, or general seat of power. You all know what that could be about. Heir Apparent is also a fictional book about Gods and Goddesses. (Four-Toed Statue connection?). Well, moving on, beneath the monitor, there was an invisible link that led to the hanso bio site. That's all I got. If nobody else has said this, then I assume there's much to be said.

That's a load of hot, steaming horseradish sauce. There's no way he pulled that out of the HSV of the q9als2002 file.

If you follow the link to the clues.blogspot page you'll see he used a full photo not the gif. doesn't have anything to with the gif. it's more like six degrees of separation

He used the wrong image. He downloaded a user-made image from the other website. See the image on the lost clues website with the question mark embedded in it? It's just a header graphic someone made for the story. That guy downloaded it thinking it was the image from hole2 without even checking first. Smile

Yep, pretty much what I figured. I didnt have time to look at it and no one on the board where he posted it called him on it.
