Help!!! I'm new to this!

I'm new to this and I need help getting started. I've read all the basic stuff like what it is, how people play, ect. But what I need to know is how do I jump into a game? Which one should i start with? And what are some inportant things I should know or do before playing.

Thank you for all the help.

first of all posts like this should be posted in a general discussion forum, not the "news and rumors" forum. Rolling Eyes

either wait until a game launches, (sign up to ARGN for updates and announcements) or find one that is fairly new ie) Edoc Laundry...The Lost Experience.

Read previous posts (trails) to get caught up, more than likely there will be a WIki, which can be used to quickly reference previous puzzles and their solves...character bios...the story thus far...etc

Get involved, join the chatrooms, email ingame adresses, make the phone calls...the more you know of what is going on, the more the game will make sense to you.

Do as much research as you can on your own. If you still have questions, most users will be happy to answer them, assuming you have atleast tried to find the answer by yourself.

hope this helps.

have fun

Hi Joe!

Welcome to Unfiction. Smile

There are a number of ARGs currently in early stages, as blaqueice mentioned.

  • If you like the TV Lost, or even if you don't, you may enjoy the Lost Experience, which appears to be a pretty massively-scaled professionally-done ARG based on the TV show.
  • Catching the Wish, the sequel to the popular grassroots ARG Chasing the Wish is, if I understand correctly, just starting.
  • Studio Cypher is a game/ARG with both free and pay-to-play sections, by the makers of the popular Ares Station.
  • Perplex City is probably the most publicized of the currently-running games, and has been running for quite some time, but I hear it's far from done.
  • xccr is something that appears to be ARGlike and I think may still be in the early stages.
  • syst3m is a recently-concluded teaser for Arcana, an ARG that will be launching (any players wanna help me out here...? Smile ).
  • edoc laundry is a game by some of the same people who made the Beast, I Love Bees, and Last Call Poker. It involves a line of clothing, but you do not have to buy the clothes to play.

People who are playing any of the above games should be able to help you learn more about them, so I'd suggest checking out the forums or visiting the chat channels for anything that catches your interest.

Hope that helps! Very Happy
