Can't figure out where to take the steam boat...

I can't find the pieces of paper everyone else found in the chest? I put the steering wheel on... I fixed the pipe... it's asking where I want to go... but I can't find any pieces of papers... and I've searched the internet for possible leads... from Fulton, to the Hudson River, to all the places on the Hudson... I don't know where that paper is. I know some gave the location answer.. but I'd really like to find that paper to see for myself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The paper was on the shelf to the right left of the ship's wheel, I think.

The Final Solution

I say its the National Museum of American History. It's in Washington, DC (the blocks), and it houses an early symbol of the American Revolution (The "Star-Spangled Banner," albeit it is from the War of 1812). It makes sense, don't it?

insurance policy

Did any one else get the Genworth Click here to skip this puzzle in the backpack area of the steam pipe puzzle? I didn't find the need to click it fortunately!

Someone mentioned 2 lanterns I only found 1?

If you opened the big book and clicked on the Genworth Insurance Policy, it is in your backpack. With that Policy you have that option to skip any puzzle if you want to use up your "Free Pass".

Hmm...now that I read what I wrote I needed to explain better sorry...what I was trying to get at was if this was the first time it was available? I guess it really doesn't matter in the scheme of the game.

Could it be the Declaration of Independence?

The thing about the 2 lanterns is that the game's bugged -- you can actually keep getting lanterns indefinitely by clicking on that same spot.

If so, then the answer should be the National Archives. I'll probably put that in for my next guess, but with Nick Cage in National Treasure going on a treasure hunt with it, I doubt NBCUniversal would repeat Disney's plot.

Are the National Archives located within the National Mall?

9 clues but 8 weeks of shows

The guess:

Quote:
Where is the early symbol [of the American Revolution]
as the final clue uses all nine spaces for clues on the pad.

But there are only 8 shows scheduled in total and only 3 more to go? We are only missing three pieces from the gameboard.

So where does the ninth clue come from?

Has anyone used the coordinates from the big book for anything yet?

Also I note from the rules:
Quote:
When you have solved the final puzzle correctly and provided the other information requested, you will be entered into the Grand Prize winner random drawing.

http://www.nbc.com/Treasure_Hunters/game/rules.shtml

Does this mean that if we had solved it correctly by now it would have asked us for additional information?

Also, just a head's up: unlike the earlier deadlines,
Quote:
the submission deadline for Challenge 8 is August 7, 2006 9:00pm EST to August 8, 2006 8:59PM EST .
We only have one day to submit the answer - not the entire week.

kona: The main Archives building where the Declaration is on display is basically across the street from the National Gallery of Art. It's part of the mall scene but I'd call it facing the mall rather than on the mall. (The gallery is on the mall.)

And... is there any way to rotate the pieces or the game board? I can't really figure out the geography - there's a couple I feel must be turned.

They should fit the basic layout of the National Mall - in a cartoony, abstract sort of way. Which tile are wanting to turn?
